Quilts of Valor
Our Progress
Our QOV program started in 2007 by Kim Loar our President.
We were asked to make red, white and blue blocks (patriotic) that
measured 12" by 12". Whoever made the most blocks would win a
gift certificate to one of our local quilt shops. The prize was won
by Louise C. ! Congratulations !
Our QOV workshop started in the spring of 2007 at AAA Vacuum & Sewing Center

RRQG Quilts of Valor Delivered!
On June 20 the Gold Wing Road Riders Association PA Chapter B delivered 25 quilts from the Red
Rose Quilters Guild and six from the York Quilters Guild to Gretchen Roberts, OEF/OIF Acting Program
Manager for the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Shown in the photo above left to right: Terry Heil
(retired Army), Gretchen Roberts, Bonnie McClun, John McClun (retired Army), and John Parker. The
blue trike and trailer shown here are the delivery vehicle. We now know that maximum capacity on the
trailer is 32 quilts. Our contact for the Q of V program tells us that he could easily use 100 quilts per
month for the new soldiers he sees. He also tells us that they are very appreciated by the soldiers
who receive them.
We also donated a quilt to Homes for our Troops to Spc. James Fair
of Pittsburg. Thank you James!
Lebanon VA Medical Center - 25 from RRQG + 6 from York Quilt Guild
Philadelphia VA Medical Center - 23 quilts have been sent
Coatesville VA Medical Center - 36 quilts have been sent
We have sent out a little over 100 completed quilts w/pillowcases and
letter of appreciation thus far.
