Trainers
Gayle
Hatch's contributions to Olympic-style weightlifting and strength training
are quit considerable.
He has been active as a weightlifting coach
and strength coach for more than thirty years. His club,
the Gayle Hatch Weightlifting team has won more than forty
Junior, Senior, and Masters national
championships. Coach Hatch has also
had three athletes make the United States Olympic and also
had numerous athletes selected to
other U.S. international teams. Some of the outstandinglifters that
have come out of the
Gayle Hatch program include Olympians Bret Brain and Tommy Calandro,
Junior American record holdrs Blair Lobrano, Buster Bourgeois, and Brandon
Baker, as well
Masters Champions Walt Imahara and Chuck
Meole. He has also trained numerous athletes that have
gone on to get drafted in the NFL, MLB, and NBA. His training facility
is located in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana.
Chip Smith
He is the Founder
and President of Competitive Sports. Chip is recognized as one of
the foremost
speed and strength experts
in the United States. Chip holds a B.S. in exercise science. He
did his
post graduate
work for speed and strength at the world-renowned Soviet Sports Institute.
In 1990,
he was named Head Coach for the
United States Powerlifting Team, which competed against the
Soviet and Bulgarian teams. He has spent three years
as the speed coach with Phil Niekro's
Silver Bullets. Chip has trained over 200 current
NFL players and does combine peparation
for scores of players slected each year in the NFL draft. Chip
has also co-directed Duke
University's All Sport Speed and Strength Camp. He is a long time
member of the American
College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association,
NFL Alumni
Association, and trainer to many current NFL, NBA, and MLB stars.
Chip's training quarters
are located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Tom Shaw
Tom Shaw is recognized as one of the best in his field of
Performance Enhancement. After spending
nine years as the Assistant track Coach and Speed as well as Conditioning
Coach for many different
sports at Florida State University, Coach Shaw moved to New Orleans to open
his own company,
SPEED, Inc. Tom is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where
he received his BS in
Education and a Mastersin Exercise Physiology at Colorado and is near completion
of his Phd.
Tom had used hisexpertise in Athlete Performance Enhancement to work with
34 first-round draft
picks over the last four years. In 1998 alone, he had 42 athletes
drafted in the top three rounds.
Shaw currently is the speed and conditioning coach with the New Orleans
Saints. Some of the many
professional athletes that have had success in his program are Aeneas Williams,
Deion Sanders, Peyton
Manning, Derrick Brooks, and NBA players Charlie Ward and Billy Owens. Tom
facility is on the
outskirts of New Orleans in Kenner, Louisiana.
Loren Seagrave
Coach Seagrave is regarded as one of the most renowned speed and sports
performance coaches in the
world. His specialties include human performance optimization, health
and wellness, greater quality and
enjoyment of life through lifestyle and eating behavior modification. Coach
Seagrave's holistic and
multi-disciplinary approach to performance optimization has earned him acclaim
for ahtletes and coaches
throughout the sports world of sports. He is considered one of the
leading exponenets of applied sports
science into today's high performance athletes. Coach Seagrave has
worked with over fifty Olympic
and World Championships medialists, national and World record holders, and
Collegiate All-Americans.
His coaching experience with other sports includes football, baseball, basketball,
soccer, and ice hockey.
Since 1998, he has worked as a speed and conditioning coach with the Atlanta
Falcons, and consults
regularly with the Detroit Lions and other NFL teams. He is also the
co-author of the book Speed
Dynamics. This book that empowers the coach and the athlete and gives
them knowledge and tools to
be self-sufficient in their quest for excellence. Seagrave's training
facility is based in Fargo, North
Dokota.
Jay Schroeder
He is the director of the EVO SPORTS training facility.
Coach Schroeder has over twenty years of
experience training elite professional athletes as well as amateurs in many
sports. Over the past four
years Jay has further refined his unique training methods so that EVO
SPORTS trained athletes
consistently make gains strength, power and speed upwards of 2-3 times faster
than traditional
methods. This is accomplished with superior restorative methods ans
doping free. A focus for
Coach Schroeder over the past few years has been to help college athletes
increase their power
and speed as well as prepare them for professional sports. As an example,
six EVO SPORTS
trained athletes were drafted into the NFL in 2001, two in the first round
and two in the second.
Schroeder's training facility is based in Tempe, Arizona.
