Course Budget Proposal and Facilities Floor Plan

Course Budget Proposal

In the process of presenting a new course to the State of California Department of Corrections, numerous items must be measured. A budget must be drawn up and presented to the state, showing income and operating cost. Although income would not be made from this particular group of students it is wise to look at it as saving tax payers the cost of housing a prisoner in jail. The course survival would depend on the Average Daily Attendance (ADA) rate. In the case of a Substance Abuse Treatment and Recovery (STAR) class, expenses would include equipment such as TV’s, VCR’s DVD players and other useful learning tools and materials such as work books and office supplies. The cost of the facilities use would minimal due to the classroom being in the actual parole office. The goal here is to save tax payers money while increasing the chance of creating a productive and law abiding citizen.

Facilities Floor Plan

In designing the perfect classroom it is best to use graph paper or a computer program like the one I used. The squares on graph paper help to give perspective. However I found it easier to use a computer program that allows one to design a floor plan to scale. The program has options as to what dimensions one desires to create the ideal classroom. As you will see the class room I designed will be an excellent learning environment.
