A Conman's Confessions: The Redcoat Conmen Biography

I guess it all started back in the second grade, when Eric and Shaun had the idea to put together a band. The band ended up being Eric and Shaun in Eric's backyard, playing beats with nothing but their voices. Later on down the road, Eric was interested in learning the guitar, and Shaun was all about the drums. Soon enough Shaun gave up the drums and had his heart set on guitar, but in the fifth grade took lessons for trombone. Eric also gave up his attempts at guitar and took lessons for the suesaphone. Eventually both Shaun and Eric gave up their brass instruments. It wasn't until eigth grade that Shaun picked up bass and stuck to it. Again, the idea for a band arose to mind. He talked to Eric and his cousin Stuart (who played guitar). They set up a band with a guy named Sean Smith on drums. Together Shaun, Stuart, Eric, and Sean formed the prog rock band named "Ethyl." The band had one song written; it was called "Ballad Le Squirrel" and it was to be on Shaun and Eric's "Squirrels Gone Wild: A Squirrel Documentary." (You can buy it by clicking on the ad at the top of the page.) After a few summer months, that band broke up because they sucked. Later on though Stuart got extremely good at guitar, and Shaun at bass. Shaun signed onto a punk rock band called Rounding Second Base, but then that hope sprung forth. The new idea was to form a completely different band. One like no one's ever heard. Once again, they called Sean Smith. A few weeks later, Sean was fired.

The Redcoat Conmen hail from the grand state of New Jersey. The name of the band came from none other than our very own Eric Golubiewski. It just kind of grew on the rest of the band. "I wasn't about it at first, but after all the other failed attempts at creating musical fusion, I learned to love it."

After some alterations to the band, the line-up is as follows: Shaun Beacham plays a killer bass guitar, Stuart Beacham plays the amazing lead guitar role, while Tyler Levermore (though very talented) sits at the rhythm guitar spot. The other members of the band include Ed Muoz (who handles the drums), Eric Golubiewski (who works the mic), and Billy Scarbrough (who stands behind the keyboards.)

The style of the Conmen is quite diverse in it's own way. The drums are on the rock/prog rock side. The vocals are good ol' rock and roll. The rhythm guitar hits more of a rock genre, while the bass and lead guitar bring more of a prog rock/metal aspect to the band. The keyboards - though a simple note to the band - accent the band's progressive style. All of these elements brought together creates the master prog genre that is the Redcoat Conmen.
