I'm still unsure whether to proceed with thisone or not.  I'm kind of at a loss as to how I feel about it, really.  It was very different when I began.  I was going to be Davy Crockett gazing out the window of the Alamo on the eve of the main battle.  But I lost enthusiasm for that subject, after I had blocked in a window and musket, with a violin in his lap.
Now I'm debating whether to finish it like this, with a huge black negative space around him, or just paint over it entirely.
This and the one below are a pair I'm working on together.  I've done more with the other than with this one, but I'm pleased with the look of them both, if not the rate of change as I proceed.
This is to be my Grandfather in about 1982 maybe, snapping peas with my neice Melissa.
The photo this is taken from can be seen in the interview with my sister Terry.  I will cnage the color of the meadow and you can just see where I've blocked in a figure of a dog in the center background.  The dark green horizontal stripe is where a wooden rail will be.
