CRATON, MARSHALL D
Born in Rutherford County and resided in Wayne County prior to enlisting at age 31. Elected Captain on or about April 15, 1861. Present or accounted for until November 6, 1861 when he was elected Lieutenant Colonel of the 35th Regiment N.C. Troops and transferred to that unit.
PHILLIPS, STEPHEN D
Resided in Wayne County and enlisted at age 40. Elected 3rd Lieutenant on or about April 15, 1861. Elected Captain on November 21, 1861. Present or accunted for util he was defeated for reelection when the regiment was reorganized in April, 1862.
BRYAN, JAMES D.
Resided in Wayne County and enlisted at age 21, April 15, 1861. Mustered in as Corporal and was appointed acting Orderly Sergeant on May 5, 1861. Elected 3rd Lieutenant on July 5, 1861. Elected Captain on April 22, 1862. Present or accounted for until wounded in the right thigh at or near Bristoe Station, Virginia, on or about October 14, 1863. Right leg amputated. Died in hospital at Richmond, Virginia, October 30, 1863, of wounds.
BRYAN, JOHN D
Resided in Wayne County and enlisted at age 25, April 15, 1861. Mustered in as Private and was promoted to Sergeant in March-April, 1862. Promoted to 1st Sergeant on April 22, 1862, and was elected 3rd Lieutenant on October 1, 1862. Promoted to Captain on October 31, 1863. Present or accounted for until he resigned on October 6, 1864. Letter of resignation indicates he resigned because " I have unintentionally incured the displeasure of my Brigade Commander [and] therefore ask that I may be permited (sic) to join some other command.
ANDREWS, WILLIAM S.G.,2nd Lieutenant
Born at Woodbury, Connecticut, and resided in Wayne County where he was by occupation a merchant prior to enlisting at age 39. Elected 2nd Lieutenant on April 15, 1861. Present or accounted for until June24, 1861, when he was appointed Captain of Company F, 10th Regiment N.C. State Troops (1st Regiment N.C. Artillery), to rank from May 16, 1861, and transferred to that unit.
BORDEN, WILLIAM H.,2nd Lieutenant
Resided in Wayne County and enlisted at age 20, April 15, 1861. Mustered in as Private and was promoted to Sergeant on September 23, 1861. Promoted to 1st Sergeant on November 21, 1861, and was appointed to 2nd Lieutenant on February 20, 1862. Present or accounted for until transferred to Company E, 50th Regiment N.C. Troops, on or about March 7, 1862.
DENMARK, JOEL J,.2nd Lieutenent
Resided in Wayne County and enlisted at age 19. June 12, 1861. Mustered in as Private and was promoted to Corporal on October 1, 1862. Elected 2nd Lieutenant on February 20, 1862. Present or accounted for until killed at Bristoe Station, Virginia, October 14, 1863.

Resided in Wayne County and enlisted at age 30, April 15, 1861. Mustered in as Corporal and was promoted to 1st Sergeant on July 5, 1861. Elected 3rd Lieutenant on November 21, 1861. Present or accouted fr until he was defeated for reelection when the regiment was reorganizes in April, 1862. Later served as Major of an unspecified North Carolina reserve battalion.
HUNT, STEPHEN MONROE,.1st Lieutenant
Born in Beaufort County and resided in Wayne County prior to enlisting at ag 24. Elected 1st Lieutenant on or abou April 15, 1861. Present or accounted for until he was defeated for reelection when the regiment was reorganized in Aprl, 1862. "Died from war injury" on December 2, 1863. Place and date injured not reported. Place of death not reported.
NOBLES, RICHARD L,.3rd Lieutenant
Resided in Pitt County and enlisted at age 22, August 19, 1862. Present or accounted for until wounded and reported captured at Sharpsburg, Maryland, September 17, 1862. Died on September 20, 1862, of wounds. Place of death not reported.
PARKER, JOHN G,.1st Lieutenant
Resided in Wayne County and enlisted at age 31, April 15, 1861. Mustered in as Private and was appointed 2nd Lieutenant on April 22, 1862. Present or accounted for until captured in Maryland on or about September 15, 1862. Confined to Fort Delaware, Delaware, untiltransferred to Aiken's Landing, James River, Virginia, October 2, 1862, for exchange. Declared exchanged at Aiken's Landing on November 10, 1862. Returned to duty on an unspecified date. Promoted to 1st Lieutenant on or about October 24, 1863. Preent or acconted for until he surrendered art Appomattox Court House, Virginia, April 9, 1865.

Born in Wayne County and was by occupation a cadet at the military institute in Charlotte prior to enlisting at Fort Macon at age 19, June 1, 1861. Mustered i as Private and was promoted to Sergeant on November 21, 1861. Elected 1st Lieutenant on April 22, 1862. Present aned acconted for until he resigned on September 25, 1862, by reason of ill health. Later served as Private in Company H, 9th Regiment N.C. Troops (1st Regiment N.C. Cavalry).

Resided in Johnson County and enlisted at age 23, May 1, 1861. Mustered in as Private and was promoted to Corporal on or about March 1, 1862.Captured at New Bern on March 14, 1862. Confined to Fort Columbus, New York Harbor. Exchanged prior to July 1, 1862. Promoted to Sergeant on October 1, 1862, and was appointed to 2nd Lieutenant on October 31, 1864.
