Heritage. That is an important word. It is defined as tradition and, as a status which is acquired by birthright. While our individual heritage may be different, we are all products of it in one way or another. To many southerners it goes beyond just a sense of origin. Heritage to a southerner is more of a sense of who we are, and what we are about. It is much like a suitcase which is packed carefully at the beginning of a journey and carried throughout, the journey being life. This sense of being is much a part of us, and is to some extent unalterable. As stated in The Rhubiayat of Omar Khayyam, "the moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on." We are indelibly forever southern.
Do you realize that with slightly over 6 billion people in the world no two are alike? No two individuals have the same finger prints, the same voice print, the same ear lobe, or retina pattern. We are all uniquely different. You are unlike any other person in this world. Remember who you are!
RebSojer's Forever Southern Home Page has everything to do with unique heritage, and being Southern By the Grace of God.
