Welcome to the Rebels website. The Rebels Hot Rod club formed in the winter of 75 when a rebellious group of young enthusiastic Hot Rodders broke away from one of the more politically driven clubs in South Australia. These young men had a vision of their Hot Rods being like the ones they saw in American Hot Rod magazines, built on real tuff Hot Rod themes with individuality. Well, 30 years on & the Rebels have stamped their mark on Adelaide Hot Rodding as an exclusive Hot Rod Club, building some of the best looking Hot Rods in Australia. The Rebels Hot Rods are all V8 powered cars and members may join by invitation only. A few years back the Club was approached to put on a static display at the South Australian Government funded Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar race. The opportunity of promoting the Rebels Hot Rod Club & Hot Rodding in SA, track-side, was not turned down, with 15 cars going on display. A BBQ, a few beers and a V8 race to watch. It was a great day for the Rebels, promoting rodding & enjoying the great atmosphere. In 1996 the club travelled to the New Zealand Hot Rod Nationals. Just think about it! 15 Rebels, a country we had never seen before, new rods to check out, foreign beer to drink - Wow what a week! The Kiwis even knew about the Rebels Hot Rod club and our cars before we got there. The Rebels also promote rodding to younger rodders as seen at the 2001 Adelaide Hot Rod Show with a newly built A roadster in the club still sporting "P" plates being driven by a young Rebel. We are keen to see the sport grow, so if anyone reading this has or is building a Rebels specification Hot Rod and would like more information, please email to [email protected] Forever building tuff Hot Rods!
