Corn snakes are one of the best starter snakes around. (Kids if you want to get one tell your parents how great they are.) Or let them read my other care page: "Why Corn Snakes are the best pet") Anyways they grow to 3 or 4 feet. They love to be handled and are extremely tame animals. The can live their whole life in a 20 gallon tank, but if you have a baby a 10 gallon tank will work for about a year. Provide a water bowl large enough so they can soak in. Substrate can include: News Paper, and aspen bedding. I use that Eco Earth substrate that you put into water and it expands. It takes about 2 days to dry, but other than that it works well. Remember NEVER use: CEDAR, SAND,or GRAVEL. Make sure you have a tight lid, cause they are very capable of escaping. To read more on keeping these snakes in captivity go here.
