Project ZX750F1
previous day's entry March 21st, 2003 next day's entry
Sorry I haven't updated the jounal in a while, just haven't gotten around to it. Now that the fairings are sanded, primered and waiting painting it's time to get some mechanical work done.
The previous owner told me that it needed a new head gasket. That it was over heating and had damaged the headgasket, I noticed that cooling fans didnt work so it would heat up at a stoplight, but was ok once moving so the cooling system was ok, except the fan.
Set the above timing at TDC marked with a T at the very top, then the cam gear have markers that will point to each other, like so...
Once you get the timing done, you remove the tensioner and the chain comes off. Once the chain comes off you remove the cam towers and rocker arms.
