| (Well, Families) | ||||||||||||||||||
| I have to admit, it took me a little while to get used to it. When someone would ask me about my family, I would start talking about the kids or Mother and Dad and Boy Scouts and Barbies. Now when I talk about my family, I talk about Matthew, as he is my new family. We are a family. That seems so strange, two people being a family. I still go outside to talk with the children after church instead of staying inside and doing what my Mother did -- representing her family. It's been hard to adjust, but now I've done it. But does that mean I have no other family? Not so. While my parents, brothers and sisters are still my family, they're my family in a different way. My "no-longer-first-priority family." And there are my parents and brothers in law. I enjoy spending time with Jeannie the same way I enjoyed spending time with my Mother. One of the greater "pros" to being married is having another family. I love every single person in my family. |
