Myst III: Exile By Alan
The third ( and probably not last ) installment in the popular Myst series. Atrus needs your help once again, this time to help him recover a the link to the perfect age, Raleeshahn, which was stolen by Saavedro, a man who apparently has a vendetta against Atrus and his family. Travel to a variety of wondrous ages and uncover the dark plot and save Raleeshahn from the clutches of evil. Nothing we havent seen before in this game. Just a whole mess of puzzles and riddles. Patience and logic are required for this game.
The Pros
The Graphics
As always, the environments in the Myst series have been absolutely astounding. As the series progresses, the graphics seem to just get better and better. Even though, the game is mostly stills, there is an incredible amount of detail in every one of them. Also, the design of each new age is nothing short of a phenomenon. Every new installment that comes out presents a vivid and creative imagination.
The Challenge
The challenge is what I have always admired about the Myst series, although many people might disagree with me. To get through this these types of games without any help, gives one a proud sense of accomplishment. But as mentioned before, you must a LOT of patience to play this because the puzzles are very difficult. But even though it can be frustrating, the challenge is a major plus for Exile. |
