The fifth installment of the famed Mortal Kombat series makes an incredible komeback to the next-gen systems. This time the face of evil has two faces in the form of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. Once again, the heroes of Earthrealm must kome together to face the forces of evil in tournament. MKDA offers more of everything this time around. Better graphics, more kharacters, a new fighting system, awesome fatalities, and WAY MORE BLOOD!! Kan you put a stop to this Deadly Alliance?
The Pros
The Fighting System
MKDA offers a brand new fighting system that is not in any other game. With the game focusing more on actual technique and kombos as opposed to special moves, a uniqueness is addded to the game. Now, each character possesses 3 different fighting styles. 2 konsisting of a martial art and the other konsisiting of the use of a weapon. For example, Scorpion uses the Hapkido and the Pi Gua martial arts, and uses a Ninja Sword for a weapon. Switching between fighting styles is as simple as pushing a button. The uses of 3 styles adds more oppurtunities for and better looking kombos.
The Kharacters
With a total of 23 playable characters, MKDA offers the best assortment of unique and interesting characters. With a little more than half of them returning from the previous titles, fans of the series will see how their favorite kharacters have evolved, and see why some are no longer in the series. In addition to favorites like Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Shang Tsung, and Johnny Cage, new kharacters have been introduced such as Mavado, Kenshi, and the superhot ladies Nitara and Li Mei. Each has a unique and interesting story behind them which is slowly revealed when progressing through the game.
