Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 2

The sequel to the popular PSOne version.  This game isnt just another addition to the endless spawns of Resident Evil.  Silent Hill 2 actually lives up to its name as a horror yet, entertaining game.  Fans of the first installment will love this game, but other gamers arent missing an especially revolutionary game with Silent Hill 2.

The Pros

The Graphics

Taking a look at screenshots from magazines and the internet during the months before the games release, I knew this game was going to look impressive.  I knew I was right as I watched the opening intro.  You can tell the people at Konami spent a lot of time on the character modeling.  Even in gameplay, the graphics are just astounding.  Throughout most of the game, your environment is dark and grainy, which adds to the scariness of the game.  Also the games "lighting" is very well done, with its cast shadows and top lighting (giving the characters a more freaky look.)

The Sound

Whether its the in-games eerie music or its heart-stopping sound effects, the sound will, at times, make you jump.  I have always found a games sound to be very crucial to its overall credibility, and Silent Hill 2s sound is a major plus.  This games sound just adds more "freakyness" to the gameplay, which just makes the game hard to put down at times.
