Okage: Shadow King
Okage: Shadow King
By Alan

Finally, an RPG with some attitude.  You are Ari, a young boy whose journey begins when his shadow becomes possessed by the Evil King Stan, who was just released from a mystical imprisonment.  Stan then makes Ari his slave, and sets out to recover his lost powers and seek revenge on those responsible for his imprisonment.  Similar to other RPGs, your journey is full of new worlds, strange monsters, and even stranger allies, all mixed in with a smart-ass Evil King, whose sarcasm and jokes seem to have no end.

The Pros

The Concept

Okage is not your typical RPG with a save-the-world kind of plot.  What makes Okage different is its crude and humorous dialogue and ridiculous concept.  The whole game is set in a type of old world, or primitive-like setting with its environments and characters.  The Evil King Stan adds a more modernized aspect to the game with his dialect and his sarcasm.  Not to mention all his crude jokes and innuendos.

The Graphics
Although, the design of much of the game is rather simplistic and very cartoonish.  The graphics of the game are extremely smooth and clean.  The movement of each character and the motion of the environments are wuite fluent.  Graphics on Okage are a major plus.
