Okage: Shadow King
Pros Continued...

The Battle System

The unique battle system of Okage is not all that different from other RPGs.  But what stands out in Okage is the combine factor in the battle sequence.  This cool feature allows you use all of your allies to strike one enemy all at once, causing major damage, as opposed to striking enemies individually.  Using the combine factor can be very useful when used wisely.  Super Cool!

The Cons

The Difficulty/Luck Factor

These are the worst features of the game that bring the game down.  In a battle, once Ari (the main character) is KOed, the game is over, even though yout allies are still able to fight.  Allies can be KOed and revived, but once Ari dies, thats it, which really sucks ass.  Before, I mentioned the combine factor, which enemies can use as well, which brings us to the luck factor.  You get 3 or 4 enemies that decide to use a combine attack on Ari, youre done.  Frustration is a also a major draw-back of Okage, as well.

In The End
Okage: Shadow King is a unique and interesting RPG.  With its RPG elements and at times, lengthy battles, Im afraid Okage will only only appeal to RPG gamers.  The Luck Factor I previously mentioned, is really quite frustrating but does not outweigh the positive aspects of the game (even though, a cheap death will occur every 5 minutes, at times) Shadow King gets an 8.
