The Unloved

            Written and compiled winter 2000.

Dark and depressing, for which I do apologise, but it seems to accurately sum up the feelings at that (this time). The optimism of a Labour government has all evaporated; there is no collectiveness just individuals pushing for their own personal gain. Global issues have taken a backward step, as the focus has returned to the solitary figure. From where I sit I hear precious little laughter and smiles are few and far between. Perhaps it is that I have absorbed too much water from the constant rain and greyness that surrounds. Perhaps I have become waterlogged and subsequently diluted away any optimism or happiness.

The thing that I once strived for the most; contentedness now seems as far off as ever.

Very little in my life is clearly defined and what is does not contain enough energy to transmit itself to emotions. I need to feel alive. I need to react. I need emotion; love or hate, pain or pleasure.

The contents of “The Unloved” are for reading they will not be performed live, as they do not have the strength or warmth to be absorbed through that medium. Hopefully there will be some more live performances later in the year.

THESE ARE THE VIEWS I SEE

HAPPIER TIMES!
