The Universe of All Elfin, Sec. 1
The Elfin Year: Astronomically, Meteorologically
and in Seasonal Events
The All Elfin year consists of ten months; each with five weeks, each week having  ten days, each day 25 hours; each hour being 6o minutes and that is like unto earth. As you can readily see, the Elfin year is nearly half again as long as an Earth year.

All Elfin does not have much in the way of intemperate weather. It's size, mass, smallish oceans, distance from its star, possession of 3 moons and generally gentle topography preclude violent weather patterns from developing. Also, All Elfin's star is spectrally different from Earth's.  It puts out  no ultra-violet radiation, which is the prime motiver in excessive winds as well as the deadly part of the spectrum if you happen to be a vampire, as was the new Bondmate of the Crown Princess.

All Elfin's year is punctuated by certain festivals and events, three of which stem from the natural  seasons of the world and the other two being All Elfin's most important religious events. The first is the official Opening of the Year, considered to occur when the sun rises exactly between the two peaks which overlook Kalainah Aurae, the Valley of Dawn. A phenomenon occurs on this one day only of the year. So beautiful is it that the people of All Elfin  decided to make it the official beginning of their year. As the sun rises between the peaks of Kalainah Aurae, it illuminates a series of waterfalls which culminate in lovely pools. Naturally, the waterfalls produce a constant mist. But the light of All Elfin's sun on that day does something wondrous to the mist. Every droplet becomes a separate rainbow and the whole end of the valley is bathed in a corruscating shimmer of brilliant colors.

Two Months later All Elfin celebrates  Farming Season. These are five days in which all Elfin people repair to the farmlands and, under the direction of the farmers, prepare the soil and plant the various crops. Lords and Ladies are particularly fond of this event as it provides them with unparalleled opportunities to visit with and enjoy the company of, the infertile Elfin of their region.

The next big event is the annual Giant Butterfly Round-up. This too is held at Kalainah Aurae, where most of the previous season's Giant Butterflys have migrated in order to find their mates. Elfin do not know quite how they choose those mates, but we do know that on a certain day, the entire population will swarm Kalainah Aurae. We go there to call our particular friends and bring them home for the mating and laying of the eggs.

The third great seasonal event is the Day of the Bright Beginning. Traditionally held to be the very day in which
He Who Is created the First Couple. This is a solemn religious event and is marked by formal ceremonies and followed by the opening of the Annual Consensus.

Next is the Harvest Festival. Once again all Elfin congregate in the fields to reap that which they sown, again under the direction of the farmers. Again followed by feasting, dancing and lots of fun and games.

The final event of All Elfin's year is the Annual Question. A very formal and solemn day in which any Elfin having a question to ask
He Who Is, proceeds in procession to His temple and takes his/her place in line. The rest of All Elfin knows how many have come each year because the sun will not set until all those in line have seen He Who Is and received their answer. We do not know how He Who Is orchestrates this phenomenon. But He does and THAT is observable.
The Universe of All Elfin, sec. 2
All Elfin is a planet in the Milky-Way Galaxy, located 70,000 light years from Earth. It and its star are in a Galactic Rift, invisible to other worlds.

All Elfin is accessible to other worlds ONLY through the
Strings, which are the energy of Creation, binding all together in the web of HWI's love.

There are many worlds which can access one another via more conventional means, ie, spaceships.

But those worlds wherein the inhabitants are UNfallen, ie obedient to the will of
HWI, cannot be found by Fallen species. HWI protects them by making them inaccessible save by the Strings. Hence All Elfin is in a Rift no spaceship can traverse.

Worlds such as All Elfin can use the Strings to connect with worlds of the Fallen at their discretion. All Elfin has opted to connect with Earth and several other worlds whose peoples, while Fallen, show promise toward greater growth.

All Elfin has used the String to Earth for uncounted millennia in order to assure the best of caregivers for Elfin children.

Portals are the energy extensions of the Strings and are dotted all over those worlds which know of the Strings. They have become the chief means of rapid transit on a given world and the means of choice for inter-world travel.

Thanks to Her Royal Highness, Crown Princess Nemani, Earth now has many  portals. All are guarded at all times by Elfin or Faerie warriors. All are shielded from the view of humans unless, under certain very limited conditions, a select human or group of humans are permitted their use for travel to other parts of Earth. Said recipients of this largesse may also be granted permission to visit All Elfin or Faerie for short periods of time.

Another of the worlds is Faerie. The beings of Faerie originally came from Earth and that is how Elfin and Faerie first met (See The Tale of the Opening). Since that time, both races keep contact with Earth, even mating with mortal humans, who are cross fertile with both. Elfin and Faerie, however are NOT cross-fertile with one another.
