Exploring Kehilat HaTikvah Are you English and looking into Messianic Judaism? Kehilat HaTikvah is a Messianic Jewish group in Manchester, England, looking for more members to join their congregation. However, you may be shocked to find out that they are not a Jewish group at all, but a Christian evangelical ministry! This web-page will review the evidence, providing proof each time for the statements.
The Leaders If you go to the contacts page, you will see that the two leaders of Kehilat HaTikvah are Adrian Glasspole and Tim Bath. You will also see this line at the bottom of the page: "Adrian works with Church's Ministry Among Jewish People. Tim is on the board of Chosen People Ministries (UK)"
Here is the proof that Kehilat said this:
Click Here Church's Ministry Among Jewish People? Clearly not a Jewish group. Chosen People Ministries? This is a Christian evangelical group that used to be known at the Board of Missions to the Jews (Editor's note: Chosen People Ministries UK is just a branch of Chosen People Ministries, not a separate organization from Chosen People Ministries that operates in the United States). Again, not even close to being Jewish. These are missionary groups to convert Jews. Let's look at a little proof on this. First, Adrian Glasspole: According to its registration in the Central Register of Charities maintained by the Charity Commission for England and Wales, the object of Church's Ministry Among Jewish People is "THE ADVANCEMENT OF CHRISTIANITY AMONGST JEWISH PEOPLE". Obviously, anyone who works for this organization like Glasspole is attempting to convert Jews. Here is the link to the proof, the quote is from the "Objects" section:
Click Here Now let's look at Pastor Tim Bath's Chosen People Ministries (ever hear of a real Jewish leader referring to themselves as a Pastor....I thought not): Chosen People Ministries is part of Interdenominational Foreign Mission Association of North America. Here is the link to the proof:
Click Here What is the mission of Interdenominational Foreign Mission Association of North America (IFMA)? According to the IFMA, their mission is: "For more than 75 years, the IFMA, the Interdenominational Foreign Mission Association of North America, has brought together like-minded mission agencies serving evangelical Christians who believe Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord, and who are committed to obeying His command to take the gospel to all the world. These Christians and the churches they represent trust IFMA member missions for their integrity - integrity not only in finances, but also in message, in relationships, and in moral standards."
Obviously, no real Jewish group or Jewish leader would join the IFMA. Chosen People's Ministries is also part of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities, again, this is clearly not a Jewish group. Here is the link to the proof:
Click Here So as a start point, we know that Tim Bath and Adrian Glasspole are employees of Christian organizations. For Mr. Glasspole, even more information is easily available on the web, proving that he is a Christian leader. Adrian Glasspole Adrian Glasspole is a registered minister with Christians In Touch. No real Jewish leaders would would register themselves with a group called "Christians In Touch! Here is the link to the proof, he is the third listing:
Click Here Mr. Glasspole is also listed on UK Christians.co.uk. Obviously, not a place where a Jewish leader would be listed. Here is the link to the proof (He is the 6th listing):
Click Here Further, he has advertised with the Salvation Army, for a training course designed to teach Christians about being missionaries to their Jewish "friends". Would a real Jewish leader do this? Never! Here is the link to the evidence:
Click Here No Bible? If you look at the Kehilat HaTikvah site you will see that they will be having a "No Bible Saturday" on May 15th. Here is the link to the evidence:
Click Here What is "No Bible Saturday?" Well, it is part of "No Bible Sunday". In fact, Adrian Glasspole is quoted on the No Bible Sunday web-site, announcing when he would be doing this, along with the Bishop of Manchester and various Presbyterian and Baptist ministers. Here is the link to the proof, Glasspole's is the fourth quote:
Click Here So what is the concept of No Bible Sunday? The goal, according to the No Bible website, is: "We describe No Bible Sunday as "an innovative church event challenging Christians to apply Scripture in every aspect of their lives and to spread God's life-giving word to their neighbours, around the world."
Clearly, this is a Christian idea designed to encourage missionary work. Here is the link to the evidence:
Click Here Kehilat HaTikvah's beliefs If you look at Kehilat HaTikvah's beliefs, you will see that they are basic Christian beliefs. As a comparison, let's look at Kehilat HaTikvah's beliefs as compared to the aformentioned Interdenominational Foreign Mission Association of North America. You will see that they are virtually identical!

IFMA's beliefs-Click Here Christian Listings Kehilat HaTikvah is on many listings of Christian churches and organizations, something a real Jewish group would never do! The UK Christian Resource Center (Kehilat is listing number 10)
Click Here The UK Christian Diary (Kehilat listed a "pre-Yom Kippur event" with that Christian group)
Click Here The UK Church Directory (under: "Salford", if you click on the link you will see that their contact address is in Manchester)
Click Here Their Favorites If you look at Kehilat's favorite links, you will notice that there are many Christian groups that they list. Aside from Chosen People Ministries and CMJ (abbreviation of Church's Ministry Among Jewish People), which we have already reviewed, you will notice that they provide links to the Salvation Army (Remember, this is where Glasspole advertised for Christian missionary training), the Christian Herald Newspaper and the Evangelical Alliance (Reminder number #2, Church's Ministry Among Jewish People is part of the Evangelical Alliance). A real Jewish group would never list these organizations, only a Christian group would! Here is the link to the proof:
