Exploring B'rit Ahavah

Hello and welcome to my website! B'rit Ahavah is a Messianic Jewish congregation in Livermore, California. They present themselves as a real Jewish congregation ,however, they happen to be a Christian church pretending to be Jewish. Although this might seem surprising, I will provide evidence with links demonstrating that they are a Christian group.

The Leader and His Congregation

B'rit Ahavah is an official member of the Southern Baptist Convention. A real Jewish group would never be part of that organization, only Southern Baptist churches are part of that group. Here is the link to the proof; notice that that B'rit Ahavah's "rabbi", Kevin Lind, is also on the listing: Click Here

Similarly, B'rit Ahavah and Kevin Lind are members of the Costameda Baptist Association, further demonstrating that B'rit Ahavah is a Baptist church. Here is their link on the Costameda web-site: Click Here

B'rit Ahavah is also listed on the Cazadero Baptist Camp website. Both Cazadero and B'rit Ahavah are members of the Costameda Baptist Association so it makes sense that B'rit Ahavah can be found on their site (under "Extra Information"): Click Here

Further, B'rit Ahavah is a member of the Tri-Valley Association of Evangelicals. Association of Evangelicals? Clearly, this a group that a Jewish congregation would never join. Here is the link to the proof: Click Here

Lastly, B'rit Ahavah (along with other Messianic congregations) are listed in the Christian Vista directory. Of course, this is appropriate as B'rit Ahavah is a Christian congregation and not a true Jewish congregation. Here is the link to the listing: Click Here

Their Associates

There is an old idea that you can tell a lot about a person by the people they spend time with. Who does B'rit Ahavah spend time with? They spend time with Mary Craig Ministries. In the 8/31/02 update, Mary Craig Ministries stated that

" Welcome to...

Messianic Congregation Brit Ahavah (Covenant of Love) of Livermore, CA, who just joined the list!"

Here is the link to the proof, the greeting is about 60% down the page: Click Here

So who is Mary Craig anyway? Here is Mary's biography from her site:

"Since 1972, when she was apprehended by Jesus Christ, Mary has ministered to people around the world with her gifts in teaching, counseling, and healing.

She holds a B.A. with honors in Humanities from Florida Atlantic University, an M.A. magna cum laude in Biblical and Theological Studies from Knox Theological Seminary, and the Doctor of Practical Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary. An author and international speaker, Mary is a certified Biblical counselor and teacher, leader of numerous Bible studies and personally developed series.

The wife of Rev. Jim Craig and mother of two grown children, Stephen and Joanna, Mary conducts seminars and conferences, leads retreats, and serves as a missionary/evangelist to the nations in obedience to God's call to bring healing and restoration to the Body of Christ, to prepare the Bride of Christ for His appearing, and to call the nations to repentance and resurrection.

Mary Craig is a well-traveled Christian leader. A real Jewish group would never be associated with her! Here is the link to the quote: Click Here

As a Christian church, B'rit Ahavah supports Christian charities. For instance, they are a supporting church of The Shepherd's Gate. Here is the their listing on The Shepherd' Gate Church Partner's page: Click Here

So, who is The Shepherd's Gate? According to their website:

"Our mission at Shepherd’s Gate is to meet the practical, spiritual, and emotional needs of battered and homeless women and children through the love of Jesus Christ, equipping them to lead a life of faith, hope, and love and to reach out to others in His name."

The Shepherd's Gate is a Christian organization that is involved with evangelism. That is not to say that their organization is all bad but it simply is not a group that a real Jewish organization would partner with. That is why The Shepherd's Gate has a "Church Partner" page and not a "Church and Synagogue Partner" page. Jewish congregations do not support groups who use evangelism to Jesus as part of their program. Here is the link to the quote: Click Here

Great Sites, Priceless Information

Here are a number of great sites that counter missionaries and explain the differences in belief between Judaism and Christianity, including addressing the Biblical verses that missionaries try to use against the Jews and explaining why the missionaries are incorrect. For the most in-depth analysis of verse by verse questions, go to Messiah Truth (sections on Counter-Missionary: Multi-media training [this can be read without being "multi-media"], Knowing Your Orchard and Judaism's Answer), Jews for Judaism (in their Reference Section (please note that the Isaiah topics tend to be under "Suffering Servant" part of the "Proof Text" section) and the Q & A section of Outreach Judaism.
