Chapter Nine
Nar.: Calia, Morpheus, Crytos, Patrick, and Eternity filed through the glittering watery film that filled the opening of the metal ring. They felt their bodies disintegrating into billions of particles and mingle with the air around them. When they stepped through the other gateway, they had rematerialized, with not one hair out of place. They emerged from the watery film into a large stone chamber. Old suits of armor lined the walls and large iron chandeliers with white candles hung high overhead. Calia looked around. Shadows danced on the walls, as well as their faces, giving the room and eerie feeling. Morpheus motioned for the to follow him, as he walked towards the door.
Eternity: Dont you think you should be a bit more cautious? This isnt your castle anymore
Morpheus: Not my I built this place!
Patrick: You should probably listen to her
Nar.: Morpheus looked at Eternity. To his horror, she stared transforming before his eyes. Her skin became dark and leathery, and her eyes pointed. Talons grew out of her fingertips and her canine teeth grew elongated and sharp. Everything about her changed except her eyes. They were a bright amber color, and glistened in the darkness. She screamed.
Patrick: What is that?
Crytos: Fantastic!
Calia: Oh my Goddess
Morpheus: Eternity?
Nar.: The hunched over creature turned towards them, eyes glowing.
Eternity: Mortals
Nar.: Eternitys voice had warped along with her body. It had become raspy and almost unintelligible, like she was talking underwater. Suddenly, the world swirled and cheesy battle music started playing. Against their will, they all got in fighting stance.
Calia: Whats going on?!
Crytos: Hmmm seems like we have to fight
Patrick: Fight?! I dont know how to fight!
Morpheus: Oh! I know! This must be a boss battle! Ive never played one of these directly, but Ive seen it done.
Calia: Great
Nar.: The evil creature reared up and hit Morpheus. The number 256 floated in the air in front of him, and he doubled over.
Crytos: Hmmm.. Im seeing this as bad
Nar.: Patrick rushed up to the monster, and hit her in the foot with a rather large hammer. The creature squealed and the number 52 floated in front of her. This move was followed by a fireball from Calia.
Calia: Hadoken!
Crytos: Hado-what?
Nar.: The numbers 652 appeared in front of the monster.
Morpheus: Help me
Nar.: Morpheus used what little strength he had left and lashed out at the monster with a bolt spell. Eternitys skeleton lit up as she was hit by a bolt of lightning. The numbers 572 floated by her.
Patrick: I wish I could heal him
Morpheus: You can dammit! Youre a white mage.
Patrick: Oh really?
Morpheus: (smacks head) Yes
Crytos: Hmph Its my turn isnt it?
Nar.: Crytos walked up to the monster and started talking about the political issues of the fantastic Middle East, which he had read about in some book. While Crytos was doing this, Patrick danced around and cast a Cure spell on Morpheus. The numbers 140 floated by in blue.
Morpheus: Thank you. What is Crytos doing?
Calia: No clue
Nar.: Crytos continued to talk until the creature fell over, sleeping.
Crytos: Wow It actually worked.
Patrick: Does this mean we win?
Calia: No Its only sleeping.
Patrick: So? Cant we just leave her there? She looks so peaceful.
Morpheus: We should probably just go Weve wasted too much time. My cousin probably knows were here by now.
Nar.: The party walked towards the door. They exited the room ad made the long trek out of the basement.

Nar.: The great doors of the city, Hawaiino, opened to reveal a festive atmosphere. The hunters put Votor, John, and Luna down o the ground. They had all recovered from the traveling sickness, and were assaulted by the people of the city. Or, to be more accurate, the scantly clad young women of the city.
Votor: Wow! Ive died and gone to heaven!
John: Youre telling me Hey beautiful
Luna: Oh my God Shoot me
Nar.: The scantly clad women of the city walked up to them and placed brightly colored leis around their necks. When they had more leis than they knew what to do with, a young woman approached them. She had brown hair, brown eyes, and was wearing an orange sarong.
Woman: Aloha. I am Hananano Bananano Mork but you can just call me Hanano or Hana or even 81141. I am the royal fashion adviser.
Luna: Fashion adviser?
Hana: Yeah The royal advisor was busy with the Usurper but since youre here We can kick him off the plane!
Nar.: Hananano smiled at them. A long period of silence followed her statement. They all stood unmoving and looking in different directions. Finally, Hanano broke the silence.
Hana: So Which one of you is the king anyway?
Nar.: The three of them looked at each other.
Sho: Ive been told its me
Nar.: They all turned towards Sho.
John: Huh? Youre a king?
Luna: When did this happen?
Votor: I still think I should be king
Nar.: They all shot evil looks in Votors direction.
Votor: What? Whatd I say?
Hana: Yeah so, anyway (to hunters) Why this guy?
Hunter 1: Hes wearing the Golden Opal.
Hana: THE Golden Opal?
Hunter 1: Yes (pauses for dramatic effect) The Golden Opal.
Nar.: When Hanano heard this, she dropped to one knee.
Hana: Forgive me sire.
Nar.: Before Sho could say anything, a number of trumpets started to blare, along with a lone sousa.
Hana: Oh no! Hes coming!
John: Who?
Hana: TuQual Kimm the Usurper (dramatic chords DUN DUN DUN)
Hunter 3: And his beautiful and talented wife ED HaeJin Heart-Kimm
Votor: Heart?!
Hana: Yes Shes from an orphanage in the Otherworld
Votor: I have a sister?!
Sho: What?! Theres more than one of you?! Noooo!
Hunter 3: Dont worry. Shes nothing like him. Shes so dreamy (sigh)
Luna: Right shouldnt we be paying attention to them?
Nar.: Luna pointed at TuQual and HaeJin, who had arrived while they were talking. TuQual was tall and silent, as was his wife. His hair was a blondish orangey color, which was partially hidden under a brown hat, and his slanted dark eyes regarded them solemnly. He was dressed very unlike a king, in fact, he was wearing a green t-shirt under a checkered green shirt. His pants were a dark khaki color, and hung low over his boots, which were a color similar to his hair. HaeJin had shoulder-length black hair with blondish orangey colored highlights. She was wearing a red Chinese dress, complete with the golden embroidery and high collar. No one moved.

Nar.: Daltran and Arden climbed up the steep steps to the tower for the second time that day.
Arden: Ugh Couldnt they have installed an elevator for this? I mean, its so much more sensible for moving stuff up and down
Daltran: (sigh) You youngins dont know what work is, these days. You know, when I was your age, I was young, and I didnt know what hard work was either. So, there!
Arden: Uh Right.
Daltran: And we didnt have any of these new fangled ELEVATORS either! Humph. We had to use magical transport spells that made you disappear and reappear somewhere else. Now that worked out the legs.
Arden: Does this have a point?
Daltran: Yes! The point is you youngins have it way too easy. I remember when
Arden: Ah Shoot me.
