Nar.: TuQual appeared in the hallway outside of the kitchen in the Castle of the Crimson Moon. The smell of something burning seemed to permeate the heavy warm morning air and he followed the smell to its source. The smell was coming from the laboratory doors and he could hear yelling from within the room. He turned around to look for his prey, but was alarmed by the sound of voices coming down the hall. TuQual hid behind a tapestry, just as Sho, John, and Luna came around the corner.
John: What is that smell?! I bet Crytos and Patrick killed somebody and are burning the body. They always seemed a little twisted.
Luna: Calm down. Theyre probably just burning garbage.
Sho: I think theyre good people. After all, who would they kill?
Nar.: The three of them walked into the lab to find chaos. Patrick was sitting, staring blankly at the wall, his face white, while Crytos paced back and forth, his brows furrowed. Votor had gotten there earlier to investigate, and was now sitting against the wall with his knees against his chest. Daltran was walking around the room looking at things and commenting on them, and Morpheuss body still lay lifelessly on a bed.
John: Who died?
Sho: Is Morpheus dead?
Crytos: No. Hes still there barely.
Luna: Then.. whats wrong?
Daltran: Good idea designing this transporter. How far is its range?
Patrick: (trance-like, repeating) If only I had been awake If only I had been awake
Crytos: Well We found the incinerator on when we woke up and
Patrick: Calias gone.
John: Whered she go?
Votor: Shes dead, John.
John: What?!
Luna: Do you have proof?
Daltran: DNA samples. Unless Patrick burned himself, it was her
Sho: How how did it happen?
Crytos: We dont know
Votor: I think it was the bad guy.
Patrick: Or she woke up and thought Morpheus had died
Luna: Huh?
Crytos: His vital signs dropped, but hes alive.
Sho: (quietly, to himself) So Shes gone then
John: So thats it?! Youre not going to do anything?!
Patrick: Like what?! Shes dead!
John: (shrugs) I dunno. Make another one.
Daltran: It doesnt work that way. Calias spirit is gone.
Nar.: Sho got up and left the room. He didnt understand what had just happened. He walked past a large tapestry and was going to turn the corner when he sensed something wrong. He turned around and was face to face with TuQual.
Sho: You
TuQual: Yes, little one. I see this is a very opportune time to kill you all.
Sho: I dont think so. Youll have to get through me first!
TuQual: Fine.
Nar.: TuQual waved a hand ad sent Sho flying through the air and into a wall. Sho crumpled to the ground. He rubbed his head with one hand.
TuQual: Easy enough. Say good-bye to your friends.
Sho: No!
Nar.: Sho got up and launched himself at TuQual. Once again, he was flung against the wall.
TuQual: Give up already, boy, or youll get yourself hurt.
Sho: I dont care!
Nar.: TuQual turned and went through the lab doors. Sho followed thinking out a new plan of action.
John: TuQual!
TuQual: Heh heh heh Prepare to die!
Votor: But Im too young to die!
Sho: Oh my god
Nar.: Shos eyes widened as everyone looked at TuQual.
Sho: Everyone look out!
Votor: I know Im intimidating and all
TuQual: What is that?
John: Whats what?
Sho: Behind you
Nar.: Everyone turned around to look and were face to face with a blazing demon.
Crytos: Patrick! What have you been burning?!
Patrick: I havent
Nar.: The demon lurched forward and grabbed TuQual by the neck. Its claws dug deep into his skin and he yelped in pain. A sound which quickly changed into gurgling noises.
Votor: Hey! Thats not a nice way to kill someone!
Nar.: Votor ran up to the demon and threw a bucket of soda on it, dousing the flames. The demo screamed and dropped TuQual, its darkness melting away. TuQual writhed on the floor, blood seeping out of his neck into a thick red puddle. He wheezed trying to get air. The demon dropped from the air as everyone crowded around TuQual. Everyone except Votor.
Votor: Hey look! The demons a girl.
John: Huh?
Votor: The demons a girl.
Nar.: Votor pointed at the ground. On it lay the nude figure of a young woman. Others joined him at staring after Patrick had healed TuQual. Luna brought over a blanket and covered the girl, keeping her safe from prying eyes. While the girl and TuQual rested, the remaining people left in shifts to do other errands, while one person was left for a guard. Finally, it was Crytoss turn. He had been wondering for a time where the girl came from and whether or not she had come from the fire left in Calias wake. He slipped into the lab and took a syringe from a drawer. While he was sterilizing it, he heard voices from outside the lab. He quickly exited it.
John: What were you doing?
Crytos: Checking on them. What are you doing?
Luna: Were bringing the girl some clothing
John: Unless you object, of course.
Crytos: Not at all
Nar.: Crytos moved from in front of the door ad Luna passed carrying the clothing. Crytos and John were left standing there. John glared at Crytos, and Crytos returned his glare.
John: This is your fault.
Crytos: My fault?! Calias death was no ones fault but her own.
John: You could have stopped her!
Crytos: How?
John: You should have been awake.
Crytos: Yes. Should have but wasnt. I didnt see you awake late at night.
Nar.: This last comment resolved them back into silence, glaring at each other. Finally, Crytos crossed his arms and looked away.
