More photos of memorials at Gallipoli when the Turks tried to defend their land from being occupied by the Russians. Even though the Russians were the agressors in Turkey, Aussies and New Zealanders were the soldiers fighting there for the Ally forces. It's ironic because the countries involved had no resentments for each other. There's a memorial at Gallipoli that the Turks put up to show the Aussies and New Zealanders that sons who died on their land is now the sons of Turkey too. Very sweet.
The City of Troy is quite amazing also. The city has been built one above another. The fourth layer is said to be the city where the story of the Iliad and the Odyssey is based upon (where the Trojan War).
