<BGSOUND SRC="z3taketothesky.mid" LOOP=INFINITE>
I have recently learned that I am afraid of, well pretty much everything. Snakes, spiders, heights, carnies, you name it. However, I, being the great word master that I am, have devised a way to name my fears without looking too overly dumb. As long as they have long, scientific-sounding names, I'm okay, because even though I'm a fraidy-cat, I sound smart. And in the end, isn't that what it's all about anyway??

Most of the young people I know suffer from a condition called
Hypengyophobia, or fear of responsibility. (Yes, I know that's stereotypical... so what?) I myself do not suffer from this affliction, thank God, or I'd never get anything done. I do, however, suffer from (get ready, here come a whole list of them): Anuptaphobia, Blennophobia, Ecophobia, Laliophobia (in public), Lilapsophobia, Mellisophobia, Rhytiphobia, Septophobia, Stygiophobia, and Phobophobia. I guess you could say that I suffer from a condition called Pantophobia- the fear of everything.

Now I'll bet all of you are wondering the same thing- What the hell do those things mean? Well, I'll tell you. Bear in mind that these all start with "fear of". Anuptaphobia- remaining single; Blennophobia- slime; Ecophobia- home; Laliophobia- speaking; Lilapsophobia- tornadoes; Mellisophobia- bees; Rhytiphobia- getting wrinkles; Septophobia- decaying matter; Stygiophobia- Hell; Phobophobia- fear itself.

I'm not even sure it's that I'm "afraid" of all these things, because I know some of them are inevitable. I think it's just that I'm paranoid about, well pretty much everything, and that is rationalized by saying that I'm afraid of it. People tend to be more understanding if a person is "scared" than if a person is "worried."

Anyway, there's a list of things that tend to frighten me. Note that the real list is about ten times longer than that one, but our good friends at
Geocities won't give me any more room to write anything about them. So, you all have a nice day, and I'm going to go turn on every light in the house and pray that nothing comes to kidnap me.
