Clearly popular moral standards are behind many efforts to ban art, but we were surprised by the number of cases where corporate greed stands as the driving factor.  Here's a perfect example of the latter.

Upon it's release, "Ummagumma" (the title was apparently English slang for sex), immediately ran into dreaded copyright problems.  A half live, half studio set, the original Hipgnosis designed cover included a copy of the "Gigi" soundtrack album (lower middle part of the cover).  For some reason, the Gigi copywrite holders objected to the picture's inclusion, forcing Harvest to airbrush the cover out on subsequent releases.  (Somewhere on the web we also ran into another Ummagumma/Gigi factoid.  The album title contains MGM in it (uMMaGuMMa) and MGM happens to own the rights to  Gigi.)
