HISTORY of the CHAPTER

Rho Delta Rho Don Bosco College Chapter (RDR-DBCC) is situated at 736 Gen. Kalentong St. Mandaluyong city. It was founded on Aug. 27,1999 as an independent chapter from the Galleria Council. On Aug. 27,1999, Randy Paulino was elected president and appointed Ariel Tumala as vice president. Paulino then issued a 20-page Chapter Doctrine as the Chapter's constitution. From the first members of Eight, the chapter grew in numbers at a close of 18 at the end of the year. Following the collapse of RDR-Katipunan and the slowing deterioration of RDR-Galleria (2 largest RDR chapters), RDR-DBCC slowly lost grip of power in its constituent. The decline of RDR-DBCC began when Paulino lost his vice president, Ariel Tumala, over RDR-Libis. With a stagnant reign and domestic misunderstanding, the Chapter Council withdrew support from Paulino's leadership and ended up losing support from the Founding Members of the Chapter. Randy Paulino did not lose respect from his members, rather lost hope for the Chapter of ever rising again. With the chapter almost at the brink of extinction,Randy Paulino stepped down from the Presidency on Aug. 27 2000,one year after the chapter was born. He appointed Carlo Ruivivar,a chapter chancellor and the last officer that supports him, as President. However, the new order became merely a 'front' and a way to save RDR-DBCC and remain afloat. Paulino remained to be a 'shadow leader' guiding Ruivivar over the leadership.  In 2001, The entire RDR System Declined and almost came into collapse.  RDR LIBIS was then founded and both chapters, Don Bosco and Libis tried to save RDR at the brink of extinction.  Don Bosco Chapter decided to combine forces with Libis and tried to form a Coalition Chapter that would be governed by a comittee.  Randy Paulino spearheaded the plan together with Carlo Ruivivar, Eric Sanchez. Libis Chapter's President Paul Tan, Vice Pres. Pio Rodriguez and Libis Founding Member Buddha Esteban.  The Coalition almost came into fulfillment until the National Council intervened. In the eyes of the RDR Council, this is an act of treason and defiance and unfortunately, the coalition never prospered.  But this was the main factor that saved Rho Delta Rho from near death.  It was an 'eye opener' that pushed the Council and the Senyores' to act again...  All events that has transpired that on August 31,2001, Randy Paulino was seated as National Council.  Many were not aware of these events and some have already forgotten that Don Bosco Chapter and Libis Chapter once saved Rho Delta Rho.  The verse "Recreo Defendo Regno" (Rise Defend Rule) first appeared and used by Don Bosco Chapter...and the rest is history.
