| ENTRY CRITERIA Age: . 17 to mid-40s ( exact upper age limit depends on avenue of entry) Education: . Passes in Year 12 English & Maths ( NSW Level 2 or QLD Maths B equivalent) . A pass in Year 10 Science Physical: . Good hearing and eyesight . Fit . Not of abnormal build Other: . Must have or be eligiable for Australian Citizenship AVENUES OF ENTRY Degree Course . Defence Academy, 3-4 years tertiary & Officer Training depending on degree . Not selected for Pilot until final year of Officer training Direct entry . General Service Officer (GSO Aviation ( "career Officer", able to compete for promotion to high rank in Cadetship) due course) . 18 Months Officer training at Royal Military College, Duntroon . Pre-selected for pilot training prior to joining the Army Direct Entry . Specialised Service Officer-Pilot (SSO Pilot) ( "career Aviator", Likely to be limited to rank of Major) . 6 weeks Officer training at Royal Military College, Duntroon . Pre-selected for pilot training prior to joining the Army APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS 1. Apply Through Defence Recruiting . Initial interview . Apitude Tests (Psyche Interview, paper tests, coordination tests) . Medical Tests 2. Flight Screening (SSO Pilot Only) . 2 weeks flying at the ADF Pilot Selection Agency, Tamworth NSW 3. Selection Board 4. Offer Of Employment And Subsiquent Appointment as trainee RETURN OF SERVICE OBLIGATION (ROSO) .
