Beethoven's 5th with The Phoenix Symphony

Principal Guest Conductor JoAnn Falletta leads The Phoenix Symphony in Beethoven's world-renowned and fateful Fifth Symphony. Experience Falletta's tight and controlled conducting style during a rare interpretation of Ginastera's rhythmic and mesmerizing Harp Concerto performed by Guest Artist Yolanda Kondonassis, whose style has been described as "sheer luminescence." The evening begins with Enesco's intimate and gypsy-folk inspired Romanian Rhapsody No. 1.

Für Elise

Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor for solo piano, commonly known as "Für Elise" or "Fuer Elise" (For Elise in English), is one of Ludwig van Beethoven's most popular compositions. It is usually classified as a bagatelle, but it is also sometimes referred to as an Albumblatt.

Moonlight Sonata

The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor Quasi una fantasia, Op. 27, No. 2, popularly known as the Moonlight Sonata, is a piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. It was completed in 1801 and dedicated in 1802 to his pupil, Countess Giulietta Guicciardi. This piece is one of Beethoven's most popular compositions for the piano, and it was a popular favorite even in his own day. Beethoven wrote the Moonlight Sonata in his early thirties, and did so after he had finished with some commissioned work; there is no evidence that he was commissioned to write this sonata.
