The club took an active part in typhoon victims relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Super typhoon Reming hit not only the Albay province but it also visited Naga City & nearby towns last November 30, 2006. Hundreds of Naguenos and their families were left homeless and a score of school buildings were damaged. In response to the call of the local goverment, the Rotary Club of Naga East joined hands with the Naga City Multi-sectoral Rehabilitation & Relief Task Force with its efforts to provided assistance to its inhabitans who were most affected by the devastation caused by super typhoon Reming. Rotarians from Naga East played an active part in the Task Force Reming, with PP Fr. Nelson Tria appointed by Mayor Jess Robredo as the Committee Chairman, PP Adolfo Olivan as the Vice Chairman, Pres Vic Chan & PP Fidel Yu as members of the Committee representing RC Naga East.
RC Naga East turned over a check of P10,000.00 as the club's contribution to the relief and rehabilitation efforts of Task Force Reming.
Relief operation
RC Naga East joined hands with the Regional Office of Department of Environment & Natural Resources last January 05, 2007 in repacking 62 bags of rice and 30 boxes of sardines into 1001 bags for distribution to the typhoon victims of Guinobatan, Albay. |
