I'm still here. But oh so much closer.
I called the recruiting office last Wednesday to find out what was going on with my file. The recruing staff member told me that I still had files outstanding from the mainland and Alberta. She said that she would fire off some e-mails and find out what was going on. I was told to call her back on Tuesday and she should know more. So I waited until Tuesday and called. FINALLY my background investigation was done. Just one more thing . AAAAAA not one more thing. Apparently we were still waiting for my fingerprints to come back. So again I waited. She said that she may know more by Thursday(today) so I phoned. FINALLY "again" I AM DONE...... The recruiter told me that my file had been send "downstairs" for review. I had found out from people that I have met on the net that November 30 is the last troop to go this year. I confirmed that with the recruiting staff member. She said that it looked like I might make that troop if all goes well. She told me to expect a call next Wednesday 27th or Thursday 28th telling me that I have to be at the airport on Saturday the 30th.
Now I am not holding my breath but this is too close. If I don't make this troop the next one doesn't start until the second week in January. Which wouldn't be to bad as I would save $1,000 flight home four weeks from now when Depot lets out for Christmas. I just more want to get this show on the road. LETS GO I'M READY!!!!!!!
So hopefully I will get a call next week. Either way I will have an update posted here by next Thursday. Cross your fingers for me.... |
