President's Message by Pres. Dante Verano

After the Club Assembly with AG Jun Angeles last Thursday meeting, Governor Efren de Guzman together with his official party will visit our Club. This is the much awaited yearly Governors Visit for the club to report to the District Governor about the clubs projects and activities and also an opportunity for the Governor to guide and counsel the club who are having problems. Let us all extend our loving welcome to our District Governor Efren, District Governors Lady Pam and his official party.

The programs of The Rotary Foundation have benefited millions of people around the world. It has provided water for the thirsty, food for the hungry, medicines for the sick, and shelter for the homeless. This year our club is committed to give more to the Foundation. I would like to acknowledge our members who have given their commitment to this cause: Dir. Pons, Rtn. Enciong, Rtn. Rey, Dir Jessie, Dir. Del, PP Jimmy Tiu, PP Mario, PD George, PP Manny, PE Dindo, PP Boy, PP Larry, PP Jimmy Capco, PP Ver, Rtn. Nes, IPP Tony, Rtn. Rene, Rtn. Ronie, PP Roland, Sec. Vincent, Dir. Val, Dir. Celso, PT Rolly, PP Jun Farcon, Rtn. Eduard, PT Edwin and Rtn. Jun Jun. Our club is dedicated to remove the greatest obstacle to total polio eradication which is shortfall of funding. No matter how small our contribution, it will mean a lot to express our act of service as an act of love.

Let us all enjoy the night with our entire guest. I love you all!!!

"CLUB ASSEMBLY WITH AG JUN ANGELES"

Last November 7, 2002 was one of our unforgettable meetings for this Rotary Year. The program went on smoothly under the professional supervision of our cute emcee, IPP Tony. Entertainment, courtesy of game master Rtn. Ronie was a lively parlor game among 3 groups of highly competitive and boisterous Rotarians. We also had another taste of the bloody but profitable Recognition time care of PP Rudy Valentino. The main feature for the evening was the visit of AG Jun Angeles who religiously scrutinized and assessed the plans and objectives as well as the accomplished projects of our club. Thanks to the well presented and delivered programs and projects by the directors in charge of the different avenues of service. Of course this well coordinated presentation will not be possible without the power point wizardry of PE Dindo. Kudos to Pres. Dante for being able to answer satisfactorily all the queries of AG Jun.

"LIVELIHOOD TRAINING"

Our clubs livelihood training is already in full swing. Rtn. Eduard saw to it that the sewing machines are all in working condition. Last Saturday, November 9, the trainees were busy learning how to make patterns for blouses. PE Dindo was around to assist Rtn. Eduard and to document the progress of the training.

"TENPIN BOWLING"

Congratulations to our bowling team. Last Sunday, November 12, 2002, Team A won against their opponent, RC Mandaluyong North by sweeping them with a series of strikes and spares. Team B, however promised to do better after being swept by RC Marikina Heights.

"THE OFFICIAL VISIT"

As the officer of Rotary International in the district, the governor exercises direct control and supervision over the clubs within the territory. He is charged with the duty of furthering the Object of RI, and performs mandated functions, such as, personally visiting every club as early in the year, but preferably during the first six months. By delegating the club administration to the assistant governor, such as having the assistant governor represents the governor at the club assembly related to the official visit like we had last week, the governor is afforded greater flexibility and sufficient time to establishing some form of personal contact to the club thereby enhancing the great success of achieving his mission.

Tonight is the scheduled official visit of our governor. Being one of us, there is nothing that the governor does not know anymore about our club. But one thing is certain; he is here to perform a duty. So, let us all welcome our District Governor and have a piece of what is in his mind for our good and the good of Rotary.

Welcome Home, DG!
