The Showboater - 2nd Generation Rocket Boat

My newest boat, called The Showboater, is built to the likings of The Flamethrower.  However, The Showboater has several improvements.  As of Sunday May 6, 2001 The Showboater just needs to be painted.  I decided to take photos as I was building the boat to put on the website.

The Showboater's first improvement are built in magnets in The Flamethrower the magnets were glued to the outside (the magnets are for attachment to The Skidder) of the hull.  These magnets are cemented in the inside.

The next improvement would be The Showboater's new engine mount.  The engine mount is only built to what is needed thus reducing weight.

Another improvement would be the hull of The Showboater.  The hull is made completely of plywood on the outside greatly improving strength and also removing weight.  The Flamethrower was built with internal struts of plywood with The Showboater though the struts are not needed.

Here's are some pictures of The Showboater's construction in order.

This picture shows the cutting of the plywood.

Gluing the hull together with balsa glue (works great).

To make the engine mount I use one from a Model Rocket.
