Following the loss of our last boat in a 1985 hurricane, we decided to bite the bullet and have our "final" boat built and equipped to our specifications. "Talisman" was completed in May 1987 and is one of the last of these lovely blue-water boats.
After 14 seasons and nearly 11,000 miles of coastal cruising in New England, we are finding fewer opportunities to sail and maintain the boat the way Carl Alberg (and Whitby) would have wanted. The time had come for us to down-size to something more suitable for day-sailing and overnights.
When approached this fall by Jay and Leigh Zittrer (who had been looking for the right A37 for nearly a year), "Talisman" found a caring new home. We'll miss her.
