Incorporation Date : Jan. 15, 1935 (as Globe-Mackay Cable and Radio Corp.)
In 1991, it was merged with Clavecilla Radio Corp. and
was renamed GMCR, Inc.
In August 1998, GMCR was
finally renamed as Globe Telecom.

Description: Globe Telecom is the Philippines’ #2 mobile phone
service provider based on total number of subscribers. Its primary business is
providing cellular services nationwide. It is also the #3 telephone service
provider through its subsidiary, Innove Communications,
which provides landline and Internet services on specific areas all-over the
country.

Cellular Services:
Launched sometime in 1993, it is Innove’s first
postpaid brand that offered voice-based information services called “I-star”.
It was also the first brand to offer a Consumable Monthly Service Fee for voice
calls. Today, there are no more subscribers under the Islacom GSM brand. All
Islacom GSM subscribers were requested to migrate to the new Globe Handyphone
plans. The “I-star” service was renamed Voice Info and was transferred to the
Touch Mobile prepaid brand.
Launched sometime in 1994, it is Globe’s first
postpaid brand that offers advanced features like GPRS access, MMS, high SIM
capacity, easy access to myGlobe services, GenTXT privileges, and a whole lot
more!

Today, there are no more subscribers under the Instant Islacom Prepaid brand.
All Islacom Prepaid GSM subscribers were requested to migrate to Globe Prepaid

renamed Voice Info and was transferred to the Touch Mobile prepaid brand.
Introduced sometime in 1997, it is the first prepaid
brand of Globe that offers advanced features like Call & Text Prepaid
International Roaming, Internet Surfing via GPRS, higher SIM phonebook
capacity, GenTXT privileges, easy access to myGlobe services (with a menu that
you can personalize), and a whole lot more! Call rates are suitable for those
who often use their cellphones to make NDD calls!
Launched in Sept 2001, it is Globe’s second prepaid
brand that also provided the same Voice Info service but no longer used the
name “I-star”. In the Touch Mobile brand, they also introduced the new Voice
Messaging and Karaoke services, and the new Family Circle service and Home Info
service. Call rates are suitable for those who often make
cellphone-to-cellphone calls!
The Globe Group also offers the unique Family AutoLoad
service (an electronic reloading service), only in Touch Mobile!

For postpaid
application, you may proceed to the nearest Globe Business Center.
For prepaid, if you
are a user who mostly likes to make voice calls, you can buy a Touch Mobile
Super Family 64K SIM for only P90 which comes with P50 free airtime. If you are
a kid that’s 6-12 years old, you can choose to buy the Globe Gizmo Prepaid SIM
for only P150, which also comes with free P50 airtime. If you are a user who
mostly likes to send text or MMS or download multimedia content, just purchase
a Globe Prepaid 128XL SIM for only P200, which also comes with free P50
airtime. If you are a user of other mobile networks, you can choose to swap for
FREE.

GLOBE 1-900-TXT and 1-900-FUN2KNOW is also available
on postpaid GLOBELINES and TELCARD payphones.
