According to Philippine laws,
providers of cellular service should also provide landline services. Presently,
only one (1) company is providing integrated services such as satellite,
cellular and landline. There are other companies given licenses by the NTC
to provide such types of services, but aside from the one company mentioned
above, these other companies are not providing complete integrated services.

The first postpaid brand of Smart, it used the Smart
ETACS network. It was launched last February 1994. Today, there are no more Pricebuster subscribers due to the shutting down of the
ETACS network on Dec 2002. All Pricebuster
subscribers were requested to migrate to the new Smart GOLD plans.

BILLCRUSHER
The first prepaid brand of Smart, it also used the
Smart ETACS network. It was introduced sometime on 1998. Today, there are no
more Billcrusher subscribers due to the shutting down
of the ETACS network on Dec 2002. All Billcrusher
subscribers were requested to migrate to the new Smart BUDDY prepaid service.
The second postpaid brand of Smart, it used the new
digital Smart GSM/EDGE/WCDMA network. It was launched in April 1999.
The second prepaid service of Smart, it also runs on
the Smart GSM/EDGE/WCDMA network. It was introduced in October 1999.

The third postpaid brand of Smart, it also uses the
Smart GSM/EDGE/WCDMA network. It was launched in April 2003 and is aimed
primarily at the 18-35 year olds in the higher and middle income markets. It
offers exclusive multimedia content to subscribers and features personalized
means for internet surfing, allowing subscribers to apply their allocated free
credits towards their choice of data and value-added services. It was
eventually phased out during the fourth quarter of 2007 due to poor subscriber takeup. Existing subscribers are still supported but they
can migrate anytime to Smart Gold without changing their mobile numbers.
The fourth postpaid brand of Smart, it also uses the
Smart GSM/EDGE/WCDMA network. It was launched in January 2004 and is aimed
primarily at affluent individuals 35 years and above who are highly mobile
locally and internationally. It offers a round-the-clock dedicated personal
concierge service, international assistance services, premium handset packages
and exclusive lifestyle content.

The fifth postpaid brand of Smart, it also uses the
Smart GSM/EDGE/WCDMA network. It was launched in May 2004 and is especially
designed for children, ages 5 to 12 years old, and is equipped with “Family
Finder” which automatically forwards the child’s call to pre-assigned numbers
on the phone, a location-based finder service to enable them to keep in touch
with their family members, as well as educational value-added services content.
It was eventually phased out in the fourth quarter of 2005 due to poor
subscriber takeup. Existing subscribers are still
supported.

was launched in May 2008 and was primarily targeted towards users of 3G

a “by invitation only” service with focus on ad-supported usage. It was phased
out on November 2008 as part of the migration to red mobile. umobile users were sent red mobile
SIM cards free-of-charge.
The second prepaid brand of CURE, it uses the Smart
WCDMA network only. It was launched in November 2008 and is primarily targeted
for cost-conscious users of 3G Services like video calling and mobile internet

TELETIPID, then TELESULIT, but the PLDT Group stopped marketing on those brands
and introduced a new brand name, TELEPWEDE!. All existing subscribers
of TELETIPID/TELESULIT can easily migrate to TELEPWEDE! just by enrolling their TELETIPID/TELESULIT phone with a
PLDT-Smart PWEDE! Card account.
