I was able to hike around Mount Ashitaka on a guided nature walk. Mt Ashitaka is on the west side of Numazu, just before Mt. Fuji. My teacher friend, Hiromi Tashiro, and an English speaking lady, Eiko Kimura, walked with me to explain what the guide was sharing. We began at a Shrine next to a mountian falls. We then hiked up 5.2 km (about 3.2 miles) up to the top. The trail was easy walking. We stopped many times to examine wild autumn flowers. |

The trail was an easy path to follow, even the children could walk it. |

Wildflowers are a part of the natural beauty. But around one knoll I looked up to see Mt Fuji just ahead. It is a pretty awesome sight. |
