This is probably the
best boxing site on the web. I used to follow House of Boxing, but they
folded. When that happened, MaxBoxing promptly went to a pay site. Oh
well, there is still a lot of good information available for free. They have
the best columnists of any online site and the largest collection of
multimedia content.
The guy that does this site is a real big fan and does a ton of
work updating the site. I know the amount of work it takes to keep a site
current, so I really admire the dedication he shows. It's really nice to be
able to go to one site and find links to all the current news articles on
the sport.
This is a super
site but I have the feeling it has been taken down. It was really
interesting and easy to navigate. You could follow the records of fighters
and their opponents and see who has fought who and when. For an information
junkie like me, I could spend hours looking up the records of opponents of
Tyson, Lewis etc. It's gonna be a real bummer if it has closed up.
Showtime has some pretty decent fights depending on whether Don King has
decent fighters or not. The announcing crew leaves something to be desired,
but you can say the same thing about HBO. I really admire what they are doing
with ShoBox. There are a lot of good fighters that need to get some exposure
and every little bit can't hurt.
The true big league of boxing. Although they are kinda out of the Tyson/ Lewis
picture right now, it just seems that every year they get the best fights.
This year it was Barrera/ Hamed and Hopkins/ Trinidad. Who knows who it will
be next year?
