OK, where to begin? Well, I was born in 1955 in a Military hospital in Malta. ( My Dad was a "Bootneck") I've been back there once since Dad got posted back to Blighty, when I was 3 months old.
My schooling was spread between Maidstone, Penge (in S.E. London) and Aberdeen. ( Again Dad being the reason for all the moving, although he wasn't a Marine any longer.) From Aberdeen I moved down to Plymouth, which is where I joined the Army in 1973. Just under 4 years later I bought myself out ( bad move !! ) and went to work in Reading for a computer company ( D.E.C., for those who care ) with whom I stayed for about 7 years, working as a storeman. Since then I've had various jobs, moved to Milton Keynes, married and divorced and produced offspring, two lads, James and Daniel.
Oh, the Army ? ( I'd recommend it to ANYBODY ! In fact I did recently, I only hope the lad took my advice, but I don't know if he joined or not. ) I joined, as stated above, in Dec '73, and opted to serve in the Army Air Corps. I did NOT want to join either a Tank regiment ( nothing more than a healthy fear of fire !! ) OR the Infantry. ( I never could run, otherwise I would've joined the Italian Army ! )
After training, which I will not go into here, I was posted to 660 Sqn AAC in Soest, Germany. About 18 months later saw me moved to 4 Regt. RHQ in Herford, still Germany. In '77 I was posted back to Middle Wallop to become part of the Lynx IFTU. ( I was there when the Army's first Lynx went " BOOF !". Standing like a lemon with a 2.5kg BCF extinguisher in my hand ! ) Now we arrive at the point in my life that I was persauded to leave the Army by a young lady, and my Service was cut short. Ende story !
Nowadays I'm humming and hawing over moving back to Bristol, which, for some reason, I consider my home. I only lived there off and on for about 6 years out of my 46, but it's home to me.

These are the places that featured heavily in my life. If you went to any of them, and recognise the name Gerald ( Gerry ) Horn, then drop me a line.
