| 2/21/03 - Happy Birthday Mom!! I know I know, I haven't written in nearly a month. Nothing has really happened, lol. I've been feeling some fluttering and bubbling but that's pretty much it =) I've had a really bad past sore throat for the past 3 days, we got to the doctor last night and found out it's strep. So now instead of just heartburn, it burns all the way! Jason was so worried that my throat was harming the baby in some way...it was really sweet that he was so concerned =) I finally just had to say the doctors would know if it was putting the baby at risk. But anyway, just wanted to update everyone...plus I was told I waited way too long to write again =) | |||||||||||||||||
| 2/24/03 - Just wanted to write to let everyone know my throat is pretty much all better =) We took our first belly picture tonight, it's on the site now =). I went to write another post on my journal and I couldn't go down anymore, so that's why there is now a second trimester journal, lol. I just ran out of room at exactly the right time =) Our appointment is in 3 days...let's hope this snow doesn't keep up, we both had to call into work today! I'm not going to get the Alphafetoprotein *AFP* test...no use in worrying over something I can't change! And plus maybe we'll get another ultrasound if I don't get this test =) I'll write after my appointment! | |||||||||||||||||
| 2/27/03 - Just got back from the doctor =) This was so great! We got to hear the heartbeat, it was amazing =) 160 bpm =) I talked to the doctor and asked if I could do the ultrasound a little bit early so we can take the video to show my parents. The doctor told me I could so we scheduled it for the day before we leave for the trip! Jason's mother will be here March 22nd with our niece, so that's exciting =) The next month will be great =) OH! The doctor asked if i felt any flutters and I told her I thought maybe yesterday....then when we found the heartbeat, guess where it was =) Right where we felt yesterday. So that's really exciting. So yeah, I'll write more later, lol. | |||||||||||||||||
| 4/20/03 - Sorry it's been so long! Things have been really busy latley. We went on our trip to see my parents. They had freezing rain when we got there, and couldn't hardley move in the truck. The trip went okay, alot of getting stuck though. Then on the way home we started to slide, and actually slid into a guard rail. It wasn't as bad as it could of been, but it was still scarey. I was driving, and the truck had started to slide like it was going to hit on Jason's side. I panicked and tried to turn the wheel and got it turned enough that it would hit more in the front then on the side. I know that may not be better, but I was just worried that something would happen to Jason at that point =( We got VERY lucky, my best friend's parents happened to be right behind us *100 miles from where we started out from mind you...*. They called an ambulance and we were taken to the hospital. Jason ended up being completley fine. I had bruises on my neck, but they went away quickly. They listened for the heartbeat 4 times to make sure it was consistant, which it was. They then sent me up to Labor and Delivery to make sure I wasn't going into labor. We ended up being able to leave at 10 p.m. that night. Jason got to feel the first light flutters the night before the accident, but just last night, we were driving in the car and the song "Tainted Love" came on. I don't know if it was just time or if she liked the song or what, but she kicked me HARD! I actually hit the brake cause I was so surprised by it. She did it several more times on the way home and the rest of the night. She started doing it again today, lol. And here I thought the light kicks were the only kicks I'd feel....geez! I'll try to write more regularly now, sorry it's been so long again! |

| Third Trimester!! | |||||||||||||||||
| 5/30/03 - Well the appointment yesterday was great...Zoe's healthy and my "excessive" weight gain has no effect on Zoe. Today though, I've started to have some contractions...they're not strong and I was told it wasn't labor, I just need to relax. So...that's what I'm going to do =) | |||||||||||||||||
| 6/30/03 - Sorry I haven't written in a while! I've been having blood pressure problems..so that's made my appointments for the past couple weeks twice a week! Nothing big has been happening though...I am off of work now, have been since the 18th due to a mixture of blood pressure and the fact that my sciatic pain has been so bad I haven't been able to hardley walk. I've started selling Avon..hoping that will help our income. I'm going to start selling some other home interior type things and trinkets through a catalog in the next couple of weeks here. Well Saturday we had some excitement here...about 7 p.m. I started feeling some pains, but thought they were just constant so I figured it was probably just stretching or something...well about 8 I sat on the couch and put my feet up and realized they were starting and stopping and told Jason to get his watch. I told him when they stopped and started and realized they were somewhat regular..so about 40 minutes later I called my friend Sheryl to see how long we needed to time em and she told us to call Labor and Delivery..so we did and they told Jason if we were worried at all to just come in. Once they got me hooked up, they said I was just having uterus "irritability" so I started to feel kind of silly thinking nothing was wrong...but after leaving and coming back a few minutes later the nurse looked at the strip and said "What are you doing?!" I was having contractions at that point. They checked my urine and said I was probably dehydrated so hooked me up to fluids *IV* and then checked my cervix. I'm dialated 1 cm! They put me on some demerol to calm me down and hopefully stop the contractions...well it just made em stronger and closer together...but thanks to the Demerol..I had no clue! lol. At this point my blood pressure was also 179/81...so I think they were starting to get concerned. She gave me a shot to stop the contractions, and it worked somewhat..and she gave me another one in 15 minutes and then another one 15 minutes later and had me on the pill version of the shot for the rest of the night . By the next morning they said everything was fine and they felt comfortable in sending me home! They said normally labor doesn't start again early after one time. I'll keep everyone updated! |
