I figure an update, regardless of its lack of content, is necessary after more than two weeks of nothing. That said, I do actually have some items of interest.

First, after a long time in coming I am finally going to be getting a new computer - a laptop in fact. The deal is not going to go down until Fall Break (a week from now) but I think my anticipation is impossible to actually describe at this point. Using my roommates computer or the computer labs in general is simply not acceptable in terms of writing papers, crafting excellently overdone PowerPoint presentations, updating this website, and other computer-related exploits.

Secondly, I seen Kill Bill yesterday. It is far beyond my ability to accurately relate to you its brilliance so I will instead merely use vague and superlative adjectives with wanton disregard. I will take a moment to mention that while it kicked more ass than I even knew existed entire underground continents of ass that have remained undetected until the release of Kill Bill - I would have rather sat through the complete three-hour movie than have the action split up half-way as it did.

Lastly, I have a gauntlet of Exams next week in a prelude to Fall Break, so you can expect absolutely zero updates until after the 21st. Which is really a shame since I have so much I want to do with the site, but it simply cannot be helped.

Ciao.

It has become increasingly apparent to me that a Feature on Videogame Violence will become necessary at some point. Actually, it is always necessary at all points as the media and other personalities are fond of sodomizing scientific research in ways too painful to comprehend at the most inopportune times. To start this collection process, this study deftly debunks nearly two decades of "findings."

More will undoubtedly follow.

So, yeah, finally solved the computer problem with a brand-new laptop. I ended up getting it at Best Buy, where they have a "18 months same as cash" deal so that I could actually afford it. I have been pretty busy here lately with college and related activities, but have been enjoying the time with the machine so far - especially considering it is about three times as powerful as my old, custom system.

Another news item of interest is that I have been offered an official bid to join the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity here on campus... and accepted. Initiation occurs in November, so I will be looking forward to that and related shenanigans. I don't feel anything in particular, but that is mostly because I have been hanging out with those guys for so long before that nothing really has changed. It's just official now, that's all.

Just as I finish Disgaea, I find news that its runaway success has prompted another publisher to release La Pucelle, a similar tactical RPG from the same developer. Needless to say, I look forward to having my free time utterly destroyed sometime in 2004.

Meanwhile, it appears that people are still idiots.
