For the website I will be creating, I believe that a hierarchical approach would be the most beneficial. There will be multiple pages that a user may need to access. With separate services being offered, a direct link to said services would make the navigation much easier than a sequential ordered site.

Home Page: Will feature adverts, brief overview of the company’s services, telephone number, and social media links.

Heating: Will cover the various services, repairs, installation, and energy saving tips in relation to heating systems.

Air Conditioning: Will cover the various services, repairs, installation, and energy saving tips in relation to air conditioning systems.

About: This page will provide a history of the company, areas served, and all the various services provided.

Contact Us: This page will provide the many methods of getting in contact with company. Will provide the telephone number, mailing address, and possibly a form to fill out to have someone contact you back.

Specials: The purpose of this page will be to provide the customer with various service coupons and any current manufacturer rebates available.

I have planned for the site’s home page to incorporate the company logo in a banner type format to be placed across the top of the page. A horizontal navigation bar will be directly under the logo. A designed by and last updated info will be placed in a footer at the bottom of the page. These elements will be consistent across all pages on the site. Each page for a service will contain information regarding that service as well as graphical representation of said service. A video element will be added as well for the specific services to better illustrate their purpose.

I used a color scheme generator to come up with a professional color palette suitable for my website. I will base my logo design around these colors. I will also incorporate the color scheme into the navigation bar, the background and other elements.

For my site, I have chosen to use Noto Sans as the site-wide font family. I have chosen this font due to aesthetic appeal as well as its functionality. The Noto font family contains many characters used in other languages outside of just English. With this in mind, if a user was to use a translation service on my website, they would still see the site as it was designed.
