On June 1, 1981, I was born at Bell Memorial Hospital in Ishpeming, Michigan. My name appears as Raymond Scott Hedberg on my birth certificate. I was raised in a home located in west Ishpeming. School: When I reached the age to attend school, my parents sent me to a private school in Marquette and I attended that school till the 2nd grade. (The next year the school closed.) For third grade, I was privately schooled at my house with about 6 other boys and girls. Then starting in 4th grade, I was homeschooled by my mother. I did that until I reached high school. I then attended Westwood High School, which is about 2 miles from my house. In June of 2000, I graduated from Westwood, 5th in my class. Now: Currently I am attending Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan, where I am studying Accounting and Computer Information Systems. This year is my fifth and final year there. I have made the Dean's List every semester; been part of the Honors Program, Freshman Fellowship Program, Student Leader Fellowship Program, First Impressions, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and the Golden Key International Honor Society. Additionally, I am a member of the Honors Student Organization, take part in two choirs, and even was part of a production in the spring of 2002. In 2002 I started a community service internship with Northern Lights Youth For Christ, where I have a supervisor/coach position at "Cell Group." On June 2, 2004, I moved into an apartment in Negaunee...my first experience of living away from home. Jobs: Since 1999 I have been working as a part-time radio announcer at WHWL in Marquette. My regular shift is Saturdays from noon till 6 p.m. Feel free to tune in to 95.7 FM if you'd like to hear me! During the summers of 2002, 2003, and 2004 I have worked at the Michigan Iron Industry Museum in Negaunee. My position is seasonal interpreter...in other words, take care of the museum as well as its guests. Tidbits: Ok...here's the stuff most people want to know. If you didn't do the math, I'm currently 23 years old. I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and am about 6 feet tall. I weigh about 160 pounds if you really want to know. Yup...I do have some pics of me. I don't have that many yet but am adding them as they become available to me. Enjoy! That's the basics...for more on me keep scrolling down!
Basically, I love to have fun. Does that say anything? Ok, ok...here is the scoop on some of my leisure time activities. First off, I love to sing. I have been a part of two choirs at NMU, a community choir, church choir, took music classes in high school, and do it by myself regularly. Music is the spice of life...don't you agree? I also love the outdoors. That means I like to camp, swim, bike, hunt, fish, snorkel, and just about anything else I can find to do outdoors. Additionally, I enjoy many sports. I played football for four years in high school, enjoy playing basketball sometimes, and really enjoy playing tennis, which my friend Jen taught me. As far as indoor hobbies...I like to collect things. Some of my main collections include rocks, fossils, coins, stamps, trading cards, and anything to do with my favorite animals...frogs! Like most people, I also enjoy spending time on the computer when time allows. Most of all, I love talking to people. I especially love talking to those I am close to but like meeting new people (hint, hint). Those are just a few of the things I enjoy. Moving on...
First for family. My dad's name is Gary and my mom's name is Virginia. I have a sister Melissa...she is 20 and a brother David...he is 18. I have a large extended family so I won't mention them for the time being. For the most part, I tend to make a few very close friends; although I am friendly with pretty much everyone I meet or know. Anyway, probably my best friend in the world is Ben Janofski. I have known Ben for most of my life and we get along great. I have many other very good friends as well. A few buds that I would like to mention from NMU are Rebecca Burgenmeyer, Layla Khoury-Hanold, Katie Willett, and Stephanie LeVeque. All have been my support in college and I hold them very dear in my heart. Some others out there (in no particular order): Jen D., Jared L., Jordan L., Matt C., Matena M., Heather R., "Rachi", Iva N., Holly F., "Ash", John W., Luke J., "P.J.", Cory R., Elena K., Heather O., Zach K., Julie E., Leah M., Danae M., Mary R., Corinne D., Joel C., Warren P., Beth H., Anna G., Miriam G., Joanna J., Leah J., Mike C., Matt E., Sarah H., Rachel H., Tim H., Chris P., Andrea E., Ashley B., Cori J., Coral C., "Y", Ben B., "Jewels", Alisha D., Dave J., and Sara M. I would also like to say hi to my "Cell Group" buds...you all are like a family to me. My apologies to those I may have missed. Something I can say about everyone is, I LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!!
