Spiritualizing the Senses

Regeneration is the unification of Spirit, soul, and body in spiritual oneness. "The incorporation of abundant, eternal life into the body; an outpouring of the Holy Spirit." (1)

In the regeneration of mankind, the senses/sense consciousness must be uplifted or spirtualized. This happens either with our conscious cooperation or by divine alchemy. (2)

  1. By Conscious Effort

You have heard that thoughts are things, according to Charles Fillmore, "the mind is the crucible in which the ideal is transmuted into the real." Jesus taught this way. He said, "Believe.a thing ...

    1. Through denial of error thinking and affirmation of the Truth (Word of God). The mind is threefold, as depicted in "The Lovers" of the Major Arcana of the Daath Pack Tarot Cards, the male represents the conscious mind which must look to the subconscious, represented by the female, to reach the Superconsciousness/Spirit or God Mind. The subconscious is frequently referred to, in the Bible, as the heart and it is the doorway between our conscious mind and the Superconscious mind of God. Also, the female represents the feeling nature or emotions and is an intregal part of the regeneration process. When the heart (subconscious) is purged of all thoughts adverse to good (God), conscious contact can be made with the underlying God substance, also called Christ Consciousness. The regeneration is accomplished when the desire becomes so strong that the conscious mind is willing to work in harmony with the Superconscious mind to bring it about. (But, we still have to go through the subconscious, which is reached by declaring the Word (p207).
    2. These are our tools:
      1. Love
Jesus said (Mark1:44 KJV) "See thou say nothing to any man..." This keeps negative thought influence from others at a minimum. "But go thy way, show thyself to the priest..." a connecting link between carnal man and God. "...and offer thy cleansing of those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them." In other words, keep the commandments. This includes giving up meat because meat eating requires the spilling of blood, which destroys Truth in consciousness (1) And, the commandments that Jesus himself gave as the most important two must also be kept: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and all thy soul, and all thy mind — this should be written upon your eyelids. And, the second is like unto it, "thou shall love thy neighbor as thy self." Love is the healing balm, the equalizer and harmonizer. God is Love. Divine Love is the pristine origin of all other loves.(2). It is unconditional and eternal. If we strive to conform our selfish human love to be more divine in nature, we could avoid much heartache, both given and received.
        1. To mend a broken heart the outer thoughts must be made to conform to the inner ideals — human love transmuted to divine love. By holding to the thought that God is the Source of every good thing, we are not bond to the material, but can lift off the yoke at anytime we choose. The "broken heart" is the "Cleft" or "Open Heart," open to instruction from God. The deeper one's sorrows, the greater can be one's joy and achievements. (4)

      2. Forgiveness of self and others
Jesus said, "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you." This opens the channel for God's good to flow freely throughout our being and into all aspects of life. "Then Peter came to him, and said, ‘Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him: ‘til seven times?’ Jesus said to him, "I do not say to thee seven times, but seventy times seven."(Matt. 18:21-?) How can you forgive someone? I have used two methods which I will describe in a moment, but let me say that this work never ends. If we think we have forgiven someone (including ourselves) and we are still having problems in our life or feel unhappy, it’s safe to assume there is more work in this area to be done. So, before you even begin to pray or meditate or do any cleansing work, "forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."(Mark 11:25 KJV) And, then knowing you are forgiven, forgive yourself, "and go and sin no more." There are a couple of methods for doing this: one is to write the names down on a sheet of paper of those that have offended you or which you feel you have offended, say your prayers and affirmations, then burn the sheet of paper and "let go and let God." The other is to visualize a circle of people with yourself in the middle, connected to each by a ribbon; see a blazing blue flame or sword cutting each tie as you say your prayers and affirmation, then see all enfolded in God’s bright white light which is unconditional love and oneness. The affirmation that I use is "The Christ in me blesses and forgives you and the Christ in you blesses and forgives me."

      3. Knowing the Truth that God is our Father; that we are his children, inheriting perfection and wholeness; heirs to His Kingdom. In the Bible, leaven symbolizes the Truth(1). "The Kingdom of Heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman (feeling nature) took and hid in three (The Holy Trinity; Spirit, soul, body; mind, idea, expression) measures of meal, till the whole was leavened." In other words, to assist in the regeneration, appropriate the Truth or Word of God. Meditate on it, affirm, live it and it will permeate your whole being until you are again the whole, perfect child of God you were created to be from the beginning. There are those of us who have attained a degree of spiritual dominion, but are not obedient to the Truth or do not live the Truth we know. Referred as stiff-necked(1) in the Bible, we are obstinate and self-sufficient. We must learn to listen to that still small voice within rather than our own intellect or worldly influences. This is the spiritual knowing - a relaxed awareness of the Omnipresence of God.

II. By Divine Alchemy

The other way the regeneration comes about is without our conscious cooperation, through Divine Alchemy:

  1. By Fire
The transmutting, purifying force that destroys the error/evil and refines the good.(1) This is also the most difficult way. Trials by fire refer to the trials and tribulations we face when we close our eyes to the Truth. The fire of Spirit is the reality that consumes all of the error belief in sense consciousness. It is a fire that burns eternally and consumes only when it meets anything unlike itself. But, once [error thinking] is burned away, in [regenerated] man, it is manifested as eternal life. (1)

  2. By Air
The breath of God revitalizes, makes alive. Disease or "dis-ease" is caused by error thinking on the subconscious level and needs the East Wind (Christ or Executive power of mind) to reach it and dissolve it by words of Truth; affirmations such as, "Through the power of Jesus Christ, be thou dissolved." Purification comes from the Life Current coming from within and surrounding the entire being.
  3. By Water
Baptism cleanses the external only. There must also be a quickening...For instance, when Jesus was baptized by John, the Spirit ascended upon him like a dove.(2)

  4. By Earth
The slowest way... ashes to ashes...until we get it right, we must come back and do it again — "Lest a man be born again, he shall not see the kingdom of Heaven," i.e., reincarnation.

Below is a table help us in realizing where the work must begin.

7 Sins or Major Ego States and lesser demons

7 Senses or Centers affected

Motor or Instinctual Center

GRATITUDE(FOR SPIRITUAL SUSTENANCE)
SLOTH: anxiety, low self-esteem, apathy FEELING/TOUCH

Mental or Emotional Centers

HUMILITY (NO NEED TO TALK OR BOAST)

When we are in error (sin), having problems in life, we may be deprived of full use of one or more of our senses. The table above gives us a clue as to what it is we need to work on. Another way is to find out which ego states we need to work on, is by self-observation. For example, when feelings of anger emerge, we first feel them in our emotional center, like a knot in our gut. At that moment, we can ask Mother/Father God to eliminate it, or simply say, "Be thou dissolved in the name of Jesus Christ." Each time we become aware and do this, the egos lose more and more power over us, and we gain more and more consciousness.

Every negative feeling is the result of a thought or belief that has found it's way into your heart or subconscious mind. For example, depression or allergies may be a sign of anger turned inward. "Purge out therefore the old leaven..." To dissolve a negative feeling, you must first change the thought...to discover the offending thought, listen to your inner conversations, especially repetitive ones, including song lyrics. Fear is the basis of every negative emotion. Faith is the bridge that gets us over the chasm of fear. Get rid of the fear by programming yourself to react with faith-not-fear….Know Thyself!

V. Affirmations are not used to make something happen, they prepare the consciousness to accept that which already exists in the Superconsciousness or Spirit. Here are some affirmations you may use or vary to make up your own:

A. I do not envy, but give thanks for the washing of the regeneration (Titus 3:3-5) and for Divine Justice (1).
B. I shall not hunger and thirst after anything but His righteousness.
C. I shall not kill.
D. I am alive, alert and awake. I can do all things through the power of God within.
E. I walk in the Spirit and the light and therefore have the power to deny the lust of the flesh.
F. I put away all bitterness, wrath, and anger and let the forgiveness of God fill my heart.
G. I shall not covet others possessions, but give thanks always for all that is mine from God with plenty to share.
H. I humble myself in the presence of God and am lifted up (James 4:10)
  1. 1. In overcoming addiction: "The pure Spirit cleanses me of any desire for false stimulants. My soul is completely satisfied."
  2. 2. "I bless everything that I put into my body and see it transformed into Life Energy."
