I was disappointed that there weren't many Easter shows on television this year; and,the ones that were didn't even show the resurrection of Chirst. The Resurrection is the message of Easter! Overcoming is the message. Jesus showed us the way to overcome this material world, even death itself.
The crucifiction symbolizes the death of the egos/personality; "the raising of man's mind and body from sense to spiritual consciousness...it is done by the quickening power of the Holy Spirit...it is the lifting up of the whole man into the Christ consciousness. The resurrection takes place here and now in all who conform their lives to the spiritual law under which it works." Ref.: Metaphysical Bible Dictionary
Lent is the 40 days before Easter, when we are supposed to give something up. Do you know what I give up for Lent? Negative thoughts; at least, I try, in fact, I try everyday, all year-round. That's the hardest thing to give up. Don't believe me? Try it for 40 days...or one. The demon-egos will try to trick you every way possible.
"Oh, I should not have done this or that today. I feel so quilty. I'm a terrible person."
No! you are not a terrible person....you are human; but, you are also spiritual. That is just ego trying to confuse you, trying to manipulate you, trying to make you lose faith in your divine heritage; and, be a slave to the sense consciousness.
Don't listen! Deny it out of consciousness; and, replace it with an affirmation of Truth. Free Will is our gift!
We are made in the image and likeness of God. Remember that we are spiritual beings in physical bodies, not vice versa.
When asked by his disciples how to pray, Jesus taught us The Lord's Prayer. It is a series of affirmations. It is not a prayer of supplication. An affirmatative prayer shows our faith in God and a benevolent and generous universe.
Choose to affirm with me now: "I am a perfect child of God. I claim my divine inhertance now! And, I give thanks for all that I am, all that I have, all that give, and, all that I receive!
