This is to let you now that I have been very pleased with my vision after my LASIK surgery last year. I have had no problems and am happy to see without glasses or contact lenses, which I had worn for nearly fifty years. I had delayed having the surgery because I thought I was too old.

Dr. Malitz and the nurses were extremely helpful in explaining the process to be followed, the risks involved, and the possible outcome. There was no pressure from anyone to have this done--if fact they wanted me to be aware of what could go wrong, though rarely does, although there is that one in a thousand that it happens to. My follow-up visits were timely. (Dr. Malitz saw me on a Sunday because of the time that surgery had been scheduled) He wanted to check my eyes--not that I had a problem.

I would not hesitate to recommend the surgery to anyone. My experience has been great. All of the people involved were helpful caring.

I am very pleased with the surgery. I was also pleased with the quality of service and the friendliness of the employees. Thanks for making the procedure as painless as possible. I have been and will continue to recommend you to everyone.

It is truly my pleasure to write to you and your staff about my experiences after having the LASIK surgery. I am so extremely pleased with my results. It is just so incredible the way I see things now.

Dr. Malitz and the staff made it so easy and reassuring about the whole procedure. They answered all of my questions and also my husbands questions, before and after my surgery. It was so simple and quick. But most important, painless! I still find myself smiling when I see things that I would not normally see without my glasses. The days after my surgery my cheeks hurt from smiling so much.

I do turkey and deer hunt, after my procedure in November, I went deer hunting. While I was out in the woods watching the sun rise and seeing the forest come to life, it was magnificent. I did not have glasses to fog up, to get in the way of my mask or to reflect the sun light. I was just so impressed with seeing the fall colors and animals coming through the woods. It was just the greatest in many years of hunting.

As to letting everyone else know about me having the LASIK surgery, I tell as many people as I can. I am a customer service representative for the Jasper desk company, I talk with sales reps and customers in every state. Just about all of the sales reps know I have had LASIK and went from 20/300 to 20/20. And they just cannot believe it! I encourage all who are interested be tested and see what I can see now.

As you can hopefully tell, I am very, very happy I had LASIK done. There is no question that I would recommend Dr. Malitz to anyone.

With Special Thanks,

Shelia S

Thank you for your request regarding my thoughts on LASIK, I would be glad to share them with you.

It has been 8 months since I had LASIK. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself. The day after having LASIK, I drove to Evansville for the first time without glasses or contacts in 22 years. I felt no pain during the procedure, only a little pressure. That evening my eyes felt a little scratchy, but I could already see better. The next day, it was amazing how much sharper and better objects appeared to me. My eyes felt perfectly normal.

Dr. Malitz and his staff are very professional and helpful, in taking time to answer any questions I might have. He explained each step of the procedure and what to expect in the future. He even called that evening to see how I was doing. I was so impressed with Dr. Malitz. I have recommended him to many of my friends and co-workers.

Recently, my family and I went on vacation to Florida. I was able to swim in the ocean and pool without the worry of losing a contact. It was great not having to fuss with cleaning products or where I placed my glasses. So many activities are difficult to participate in with glasses or contacts, it was great not having to worry about this and being able to do whatever I wanted.

My eyes were red and irritated most of the time from contacts. I work 12-hour shifts and it was difficult to leave them in for this amount of time. It seemed my glasses never fit well and I have a lot of headaches. My vision was still not as good as I would have liked with glasses and contacts. Since having LASIK, my vision is 20/20 and the headaches are gone. It is wonderful being able to see so well now, I wish I would have done this years ago.

Anyone considering this procedure, I would highly recommend it. It is quick, painless and the rewards are priceless. It is well worth the money you will spend for a lifetime of better vision without all the hassles of contacts or glasses.

I am a 29-year old woman who had been wearing glasses since age 6. I don't remember ever seeing clearly, since my first pair of glasses were a rude awakening to the world of the "seeing." I never imagined that people could see that far away! Year of "blindness" without glasses continued through childhood and adulthood, when for example, you'd memorize your friends' bathing suits at the city pool so you could recognize them 10 feet away. I'm not giving anymore examples since I know anyone who has myopia and astigmatism know all the shortcomings.

Fortunately, I was "fixed" by Dr. Malitz at age 28 and have been enjoying 20/20 vision for the past 7 months. Words cannot describe how pleased I am. Not a day passes that I am not grateful. Each morning I am reminded of the miracle when my eyes open and I see the time on the alarm clock. I know my outcome is entirely owed to Dr. Malitz' skill and staff.

On a Wednesday morning, I had my operation and only experienced mild discomfort for one day. My vision was good and slightly "foggy" the night of the procedure. The next morning I could see 20/30! I experienced very clear days mixed with some slightly "blurry" days for a couple of months. However, if you are as blind as I was (20/200) the description as "blurry" is being very picky. I had no further vision fluctuations after the healing process, and have never experienced any side effects except wonderful vision. Being a critical care nurse for the past 5 years has made me well aware that medicine is not an exact science. This is why a thorough examination and experienced skill of the physician is so important, both of which resulted in my good outcome. My only regret is that I didn't have the procedure done sooner.

I have been very happy with my eye sight since the surgery. I now can drive my car with ease, no more having to find my glasses. It has made a small part of my life a little easier. Thank you for that.

I really would recommend LASIK surgery to anyone. Your staff if very kind and helpful.

Thank you very much for giving me 20/20 vision. I had previously been wearing glases or contacts since I was in the 7th grade and I am now 45 years old. It is wonderful not to worry about losing a contact while in the shower or swimming. I can see the minute I get out of bed in the morning and don't have to search for my glasses or put contacts in before I can see where I am going.

The staff care and information that I received from the Ohio Valley eye Institute was everything that they advertise to be. I don't feel like I could have gotten better care anywhere else. Everyone was well trained and explained everything as we went through the procedures.

As with others, I had reservations about the procedure before hand. I had my eyes done individually, and after the first eye there were no more reservations. There was little to no pain during the entire procedure and no pain at all afterwards. I experienced cloudiness early of a morning for a few days, but since then, my vision has been perfectly clear. Colors seem to be brighter and I can see things at a distance that I never saw before.

If I had it to do over again, I certainly would and probably would not wait as long as I did. It is so wonderful to have 20/20 vision again. Thanks to you, Dr. Malitz and your staff for such wonderful care.

Thirty-seven years ago, I purchased my first pair of glasses after being told I was nearsighted and would need corrective lenses the rest of my life. Over time it progressively worsened until my visual world was reduced to about 12 inches. Many times I prayed that God would heal my eyesight. I believe that your LASIK center was the answer to that prayer. I read about the Ohio Valley Eye Institute in a special advertisement I received with my newspaper. After much thought and discussion with others who had undergone the procedure, I decided that I would see if it was possible solution for me.

In October of 2000, I made the decision to have LASIK surgery to correct my nearsighted vision. When I visited your office, you and your staff gave me a thorough eye examination and answered all of my questions about the pros and cons of the surgery. The procedure took so little time with so little discomfort that I was truly amazed. When my husband and I left your office after the procedure, I read signs all the way home. We were both ecstatic, and I was able to return to work the next day.

I no longer have to go through the twice-daily routine of caring for contact lenses or do I have the constant expense of frames, lenses, cleaners, or moisture drops. My eyes don't hurt or burn and my headaches from wearing lenses have disappeared. I am so happy with the results that I would do it again. To everyone considering LASIK surgery, I would highly recommend the Evansville LASIK Center at the Ohio Valley Eye Institute.

My husband and sons would like to have this surgery done after seeing how easy it was for me. Thank you for giving 20/20 eyesight back to me.

Since I first heard about the LASIK procedure over three years ago, I said, 'I must have it done.' Now after my wonderful experience with LASIK surgery, I'm especially pleased to have chosen the Ohio Valley Eye Institute and Dr. Malitz. I had imagined my life without glasses or contacts, but I never would have guessed that I would be this pleased. With most surgeries, you expect a recovery period, but with LASIK, it's almost instantaneous. The surgery was over within minutes and a few minutes and a few hours later I was ready to open my eyes and find out if it was successful. Knowing that there is a possibility of slight blurriness within the first couple days, I was amazed to open my eyes to a crisp, clear picture. I was so excited to get out and tell everyone that my surgery had been a great success, that same day I made a trip to the salon and the gym, just so I could brag about my new found eyesight. I had no discomfort in the days following the surgery, nor any dryness or blurriness. I'll be the first to recommend LASIK and Dr. Malitz at the Ohio Valley Eye Institute.

After wearing glasses and contacts for the past 30+ years, I can finally say, "I am free" - free from all the hassles. THANK YOU Dr. Malitz and the entire staff at the Ohio Valley Eye Institute.

Everything about the LASIK procedure was very professional. I especially appreciate the surgical team, they walk you thru everything as it is happening.

Thank you Dr. Malitz for 20/20 vision!

I started wearing glasses when I was ten years old. In school, I would never wear them because people made fun of you. By the time I graduated, I had no choice but to wear them, at this point, I could no longer see things clearly past ten feet. I decided to wear contacts. They were fine at first, but you get to the point where your eyes stay dry and aren't comfortable, so the next step was vision correction surgery. I had thought about it for a long time, but was always scared to take the big step.

After I started working for Dr. Malitz and seeing the successful results from LASIK, I decided it was time to take the big step and have it done. I am proud to say I was the FIRST official patient to have LASIK at the Evansville LASIK Center.

Seven months later, I am happily seeing 20/20! Thank you Dr. Malitz for alleviating the daily hassle of contacts and glasses.
