Academics and me dont get along well, i remember a time when i
wanted to be a professional high jumper and a long distance runner
and a javelien thrower and also a train driver and quite a few other
colourfull vocations.
Initially i thought of skipping this page totally (cause i havent done
anything spectacular) but then it struck me that i dont have much to
write anyways so why not put it up.
Well it all started out with me going to junior KG at St. Marys' School
Santacruz(E). I remember my mother telling others about my howling
skills on the first day of school (i must have hated it!!!!!).
I continued in the same school till the sixth standard then our family
shifted to Vasai. At that point of time the sports man inside me began
to bloom as there was lots of open space around to play around. I
finished SSC from Vidya Vikasini with 67% (summer 89).
I scrapped through high school admission and got into science stream
of Annasaheb Vartak College, Vasai (W). Now that i was in science i
had to study a little bit(given my pathetic score in SSC) to show
people that i was not completely useless.
This enlightment stuck on to me for exactly one week cause during
the second week i laid my eyes on the sports room and spied a couple
of javeliens which i used merrily for the next two years.
All this sports did not help me much in HSC (summer 91) and i got 66%
(77% PCM) which as you guessed is "pathetic".
After searching high and low throughout maharashtra for a good
engineering college, i finally landed in SSGMCE Shegaon. This was
another turning point in my life as i came across a subject called
"Microprocessors". This was the first time where i felt like studying
as i could make sense of what was written in the book. I finished
engineering in four years (luckily) with 70% in final year (summer 95).
If you are also from ssgmce (91-95 or any batch) do mail mail me at
[email protected] i would be good to know you.
After engineering i stuck on to my decision of getting into MBA and
in my first attempt could manage only SIES Mumbai through the CWT
exams. But with some support from my family and some slogging for
about six months i reapperred the entrance next year (called CET).
Second time i got into Somaiya and majored in finance. I passed out
in (Summer 98) with 68%. I was placed in Forward Financial Services.
