The autumn of 1998 was when I first made it to the top of several of the big mountains in Miyagi Prefecture. Seen here in this photo is the autumn foliage on Mt Kurikoma which lies on the junction of the borders of Miyagi, Iwate and Akita Prefectures. This photo was taken on the Miyagi side, about a kilometre from the summit or so, and like the next one of Mt Funagata shows mainly orangey-brown autumn foliage.
