This shot was taken on 5th May 2001 with my digital camera. Unlike the photos of the same trail to Sankonomiya and Mt Funagata taken at around the same time in previous years, there was a lot of snow during the winter months, so it hadn't melted by the time this photo was taken. The trail was buried in about half a metre of snow and ice. I have to admit that it was the first time for me to go bushwalking on snow!
