Yours truly at Sakonomiya. This is roughly the halfway point to the top of Mt. Funagata from the trailhead in Taiwa-cho. Sorry, I can't remember the Japanese name. If you want to fasttrack it to the top of Mt. Funagata, try starting from the Shikama-cho trailhead. It takes about 1.5 hours to get to Sakonomiya from the trailhead in Taiwa-cho, and about 3 to 3.5 hours to get to the top of Mt. Funagata. I have been up here four times, and have never been disappointed once.
