X-Files:Alien Abductions,
the Universe and Everything II
Warnings, Disclaimers and Acknowledgements:X-Files
doesn't belong to me. Mulder or Scully aren't mine. Most of the other characters
are.
Ok, you must be real bored to be reading this. I wrote the original to this
story ages ago when I was in jr high. When I read it again recently it seemed
sooo horrible so I'm revamping this whole story. A link to the rough draft
is at the bottom of the page, but it's pretty damn corny, so I'd suggest
turning off the computer and doing something constructive for a while before
reading it. Hopefully this won't be as horrible as the first draft.

Prologue
Ross Residience
Sacramento, CA.
Febuary 21,1996.
3:17 AM.
Laura curled up against her husband in the safety of her bed. Still, sleep
seemed to elude her. Yawning, she put slid into her robe and went down to
the kitchen to warm some milk.
As she poured milk into a pan, she noticed the trembling, shaking motion
of the very earth she stood on. Thinking it was a minor earthquake, she
sighed and picked the pot of milk off of the counter to keep it from spilling.
It only began to come across Laura's tired mind that it was something else
when a bright light; brighter than anything she'd ever seen in her life;
flashed across the windows in the sunroom.
A scream stuck in her paralyzed throat as she 'floated' toward the light.
Then everything went dark...
RING! RING!
Aisling rolled over in her bed gently and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" Aisling's voice was still fuzzy from sleep.
"Ash, I'm sorry to wake you, but do you know where Laura is? It's Alec."
A worried voice filtered over the phoneline.
"Laura?" Aisling was awake now.
"Yes. She... she is missing. I don't know where she went, all I found was
her broken coffee mug and a shattered window downstairs." Alec replied.
"Weird... I... I don't know."
"Well I'm worried... She was pregnant..."
Chapter 1
Scully's Apartment
Annapolis, MD
Scully woke to the sound of her alarm. She slapped the snooze button and
laid back down. Pulling her blanket over her head, she sighed heavily. Her
weekend had been quiet and restful, and she was sorry it was over. Pursing
her lips and sitting up, she resigned herself to whatever adventure Mulder
had planned for them this week.
Just as she shrugged into her robe, the phone rang.
"Scully." Scully picked up the phone and answered without even thinking.
"Dana?" An uncertian voice answered back.
"Yes?" Dana cradled the phone on her shoulder and slapped the alarm off
as it rang again.
"It's Aisling, from med school, remember?"
"Oh yes, hi. How are you doing? Wow, it's been a while." Dana was happy
to speak to her friend again after the few years they've lost touch, but
wondered why she was calling at... 7:30 am.
"I'm fine. Are you still working at the FBI?"
"Yes, why?"
"I have a favor to ask you."
Scully walked into the basement office that belonged to Mulder with and
armload of files and a carousel of slides. Mulder looked up at her with
an arched brow. Scully walked up to his desk and dropped the stack of files
beside where his feet were propped up on the desk with a thump.
"Nice to see you too, Scully." Mulder quipped as he slid his feet off of
the desk.
"I had something brought to my attention this morning that might be right
up your alley Mulder." Scully smiled slightly.
"Oh, you'd love to see my alley." Mulder picked up a file. "What you got
in here Scully? An alien abduction? This isn't your usual style."
"I never said it was an abduction, and I never said I believed it. But I
know these people, and I had a favor called in." She shrugged as she dropped
the carousel on the projector and tucked some of her silky red hair behind
her ear.
"A favor?" Mulder looked up from the file he was holding.
Scully looked at him cooly for a moment before bringing up the first slide,
an attractive young woman smiling and leaning against a tree. "Laura Ross,
Sacramento, California. 7 months pregnant. Dissapeared without a trace."
Next slide, a broken window and mug on the floor. "There was no evidence
of forced entry, inspite of the broken window at the scene."
"And this is an X-File how?"
Scully flinched for a moment. "The husband believes it might be aliens."
Her voice was disbelieving.
"What makes him think that?"
"Observation of a bright light at the window the night Laura dissapeared
by her husband, Alec."
"And you're buying this Scully?"
Scully didn't answer.
"Must have been one hell of a favor you owe someone."
She sighed.
"Ok, well let's go to California and see what the hell is going on there."

So this is a start... more is coming.... really... and hopefully i'll
find a plot in here or something.... will update soon....
